Bryce Harper would have to waive the full no-trade provision in his contract to move to another team.

Harper would be a perfect fit for the White Sox. He's in his prime. A great left handed bat as well as a good right fielder.

I think it will take more than Vaughn and Kimbrel. Maybe Moncada and Kimbrel unless this is strictly a salary dump of Harper which I doubt. They could also want either Kopech or Crochet. The Sox do have young assets to obtain Harper and the Phillies are weak at 3rd base, 1B, and with the DH coming into play in the NL next year in all probability, the Sox are strong in those 3 positions.

I also wouldn’t think it would be enough, and would expect another player be thrown in. I was just curious if anyone thinks this trial balloon has any truth behind it. Mostly because I agree it would be a really good fit.

Yeah, I think that there would be a riot in Philly if they dared trade Harper. I again scanned the Phillies system and don't see anything that would immediately help the White Sox. They have McCutchen but he's a left fielder and the Sox have enough of those guys. My guess is that if the Sox are talking about Kimbrel to the Phils it is for minor league prospect or two.

Yeah, I've heard that the Phillies are looking to acquire Kimbrel, but they also have just as strong of a need for outfield help.

No way they're trading Harper unless they're desperate to dump salary.

I actually like the trade. Worth the gamble. Often see guys like Haseley stumble badly for some reason. Change can be revitalizing esp. if we have good batting coaching.
