As someone said somewhere today (cannot recall), the speed and defense of Madrigal was not as advertised. Supposedly they have been looking to move him. I guess we almost gave up Crochet.

Oooh. Very glad we didn’t give up Chochet, I think he can be fixed. I liked Cody but he was not consistent.

Hah!   Your Sheets is in the line-up again.   Plus Loveland was in attendance for his MLB debut.

But I do hate watching the weird thing Kimbel does before the throws.

Ugh, so do I. But man, what a day. That was one trade I never expected the Sox to make.

Quite the shocking move!   At first blush, I don't hate it.  But I do hate watching the weird thing Kimbel does before the throws.

Nicky is a nice hitter, but his defense and base running were meh.

Blackie, that’s the infamous Rod Beck windup.  Man, was he hard to watch.  Kimbrel doesn’t do it all the time, but I think it irks the hitters also, and that’s why he does it.  Kimbrel has been really really good this year, everything always translates into stats, but his demeanor is all there too.  I hope he helps you.  I like him, but no sense having an elite closer with no games to close.

Heh, I can totally see that.   You step up to the plate, only to see the pitcher acting like Bela Lugosi.   It would be funny to see more pitchers "emote" on the mound.  Maybe a Python-esque "Silly Wind Up".

Justin Verlander may have an East Coast preference and is getting interest from the Yankees, Jays and Red Sox. Read more at MLB Trade Rumors.

With all of the crap going on right now regarding rule changes like eliminating the shift, the man on second rule for extra innings, etc. I personally would like for the league to eliminate the multiple delays in the step forward **** that pitchers use to throw off the hitters timing. I also question how much crap the pitchers go through in changing their glove mechanics prior to going forward Personally, I think that it should be called a balk because they really don't come to a set position with runners on base when they do this ****.

Verlander would be an excellent addition. IF they sign him and re-sign Rodon, that would be the best starting rotation in baseball. Now get Starling Marte in right field and a good defensive catcher(how about getting McCann back?), and this team would be awesome.

I think that the White Sox are going to make trades in their quest for improving their team and not go the free agent route. I think that there will be a couple of major deals that will occur. I still, though, would like for them to sign Starling Marte as a free agent, though.

Could be. A right Fielder and a Starting Pitcher. I think that they have enough 2nd base prospects to satisfy their needs there. I will also guess is that they will wait until spring training to find a good defensive catcher to share time with Grandal. Do you think that the major trade will involve Kimbrel?

I think that they absolutely need a good two way player for right field and an experienced front end guy in their starting rotation. They also need a catcher who can handle a lot of the catching job because Grandal is not the defensive answer at the position over a long season. Good teams have shown in the play-offs the need of a good reliable catcher behind the plate and we are fooling ourselves in thinking that Grandal is that guy nor anyone else in their organization.

I guess what I am saying Shoeless is that now is the time for this team and organization to get serious about winning a championship. They are so damned close to it as far as I am concerned and I really do not want some half measures and guys on the bottom leg of their careers and unproven young players who they HOPE will produce. Its time for them to step up and go for it.

The White Sox signed reliever Kendall Graveman to a three-year deal worth $24 million. Read more at MLB Trade Rumors.
MLB Trade Rumors · mlbtraderumors.com

Sox nearing a deal with Kendall Graveman for 3 years / $24M.

Converted to a full-time reliever with Seattle for the first time in 2021, it looks like he'll be good for an ERA in the low- to mid-3's.

Kendall Graveman baseball statistics, splits, graphs, game logs, and more. Comprehensive player stats on FanGraphs.

Primarily a Sinker - Slider combo. Looks like dropping the Changeup and Cutter from his arsenal and going to basically a 2-pitch repertoire did him good in 2021.

I really like Graveman as a relief pitcher. Really good control and a good strike-out and ground ball rate. This also pretty well insures that Kimbrel will be traded.

I'd do Kimbrel and Vaughn for Harper in a nanosecond :D :D
