Quite the shocking move! At first blush, I don't hate it. But I do hate watching the weird thing Kimbel does before the throws.

Nicky is a nice hitter, but his defense and base running were meh.

I like Nicky but he's a throwback 2ndbaseman. Back to a time when they were contact singles hitter. Unless he becomes a consistent .330 hitter he doesn't supply enough power for this era of baseball to be a star.

At first I did not like it. I am one of the few who really thought Madrigal would grow into a really good player. But 2B is a spot that you can fill as their are tons of them right now it seems like. I do like the guy we got from the Indians, err the Guardians. Maybe they plan on going after Story or Baez if they are FAs.
