It's a win-win for Holland - he gets a chance to rebuild his value, and the Sox get a chance to cash in on that higher value.
So I again ask - what's the downside?
It certainly is a win-win for Holland. He finds a sucker to overpay him. So whats the downside? Well considering the direction we are going, down the toilet, maybe just spending 6 mm for nothing means nothing, but IMHO expecting value in return based on his past injury problems is expecting green cheese from the man in the moon. Just don't see the value, period. All I see is pairing Holland with the other star pitcher they have James Shields. It just makes me go UGH. Maybe the value is only innings eaters. But 6 mm for an innings eater seems too high for me. Maybe I just dont like the Koolaid flavor they are serving.
6MM for an innings eater is the going rate, like it or not.
At least we've got a guy occupying space in the rotation to let our young arms develop in AAA or in the bullpen.
