They just think they will pick right back up where they left off when next season starts. Their GM did not make a mistake in the offseason, doubt that happens again.

I see Daniel Hudson picked up the win against the Dodgers last night.

Sox traded Hudson & Holmberg for ... Edwin freaking Jackson.

The Sox really do have the dumbest front office in baseball.

And they were the only team in 30 that bothered to pursue James McCann. The truth is - it is an educated guessing game. Nobody knows. And that is half the fun of baseball - watching how it all turns out.

It’s not worth it to play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game. Drives people insane and makes them grumpy.

Agreed. Try enjoying life.

But, this is exactly the reason why all the major sports completely missed the boat on instant replay. People LIKED standing around the water cooler the day after and complaining about the umps/refs/officials. All it did is made preposterous rule changes (NFL) longer games, and remove human error on the field to human error in the booth. Plus people still complain, sometimes longer and louder, about the calls

The first base ump listens to the ball hit the back of the glove and watched the runners foot. Instant replay cannot capture that. Yet they overturn calls based on the ball going behind the fielder’s mitt. What a freaking mess.

And managers have less ground for going ballistic after a bad call, going out and chewin' on an umpire and getting tossed. I always tho :)ught that was one of the more entertaining aspects of baseball.

I actually thought the opposite. It felt to me like the Astros were smug from the beginning just kind of expecting to win. Then they took the 3-2 series lead and seemed like they (and most people) thought it was just a matter of which day they'd win it. Combined with how their FO handled the Taubman situation, I was glad to see the Nats win it.

I'm happy for Davey Martinez and Daniel Hudson. Both of them were pure class when they played for the White Sox.

However I was hoping Houston would win as I dislike Adam Eaton and I didn't want him to get a ring.

Couldn't agree more with SoxRule!!!!!!

Both my teams the Sox and Nats won their world series at Minute Maid Park. Most of the country rooted for the Nats after the smug Astros tried to defend on several occasions their recently fired assistant GM screaming comments over and over to female reporters in their faces after clinching a spot in the World Series. "I AM F'ING GLAD WE SIGNED OSSUNA!!!"

The sweet part is Ossuna got shelled in game 7, and Daniel Hudson, who got criticized for being there for the birth of his child skipping a playoff game, finished the game.

Go Nats!! and Baby Shark doo du du du du dudu

And as for Eaton, he played well in Chitown I rooted for him and the Drake LaRouche FU was his only screw up

Most of the people I talked to here in Denver didn't really care one way or the other, unless they had a tie to one of the teams in the past.

Since he left Sunday's game with an injury, I expect Gio Gonzalez won't be on the 1st round playoff roster. Who replaces him? A pitcher (Burdi, McRae, Stiever or Ruiz) or a position player (Collins, Mendick or Leury Garcia)?

Collins, Mendick, Ruiz, Garcia

Collins to take Encarnacion's spot. DH = Abreu / Grandal, C = McCann, Collins = backup C.
