Okay, Tony. Why are the bench players on this team so crappy and guys like Burger and Mercedes in Charlotte. Watching the last three hitters in that game last night fail was PATHETIC. Where was Vaughn BTW? Why didn't you pinch run for jimenez at the beginning of the inning with Mendick With him on 3rd, a bunt would have been in order. Why didn't you sub Hamilton in the game with 1st and 3rd and no one out. I heard on the TV a guy yelling from the stands..."WAKE UP TONY"!!!!! What a farce of a managing job you did. Were you asleep? Where was Vaughn once again? Did you give him the day off? Was he "too sore" to play like these supposed IL crew that you have?

Have you forgotten how to manage in tight games, Tony? Haven't figured out that runner on 2nd situation as yet, eh? Lets let Leury and Mendick swing at **** while both have the capability of bunting a run in and moving the other runner to second base. That is BASEBALL STRATEGY, Tony? Or did you forget this with your steroid era teams that you coached? I am SICK of this man screwing up baseball games. He's absolutely a terrible baseball manager right now. He never starts the runner with DP candidates at bat. When was the last time and White Sox player even tried to steal a base. Ever seen the White Sox hit and run?

Just maybe, the reason why the White Sox hit in a lot of DPs is that we don't do the things that some teams to to stay out of them. What is he afraid of or has he just forgotten how to manage a baseball game. Any manager can sit back and wait for three runs home-runs to happen or have his starting pitchers dominate the opposition. But those games are not the majority of games that any team plays and Tony doesn't win enough of those games for my liking. He loses too many of them to teams who just execute the little things a lot better than his team does.

Kimbrel seems to throw a lot of wild pitches - and they have a cost like tonight.

A single with a man on second in extra innings should score the run.

We have holes at second and right.

Great moment for Leury. That's the beauty of baseball. You never know what will happen. It does **** me off that the line-ups for Lance Lynn have really been shitty ones. Hell, if he gives up one run he might get the loss. The guy would be running away with the Cy Young award if the offense hasn't been dormant in so many games in which he pitched.

Kimbrel's era with Sox is 5.82!

That's really not good enough to make the playoff roster of a good team.

Yeah he seems to lack any consistent command of his curveball. I don't have any confidence in him right now either.

Also, not a fan of the pitch selection yesterday by Seby with Kimbrel on the mound.

Go look at Kimbrel's career stats - his #s with the Sox match his last few years in the majors.

Hernandez has been a disappointment. I admit it. However, just like a lot of hitters, all it really takes is a couple of good ABs to turn things around. HE still is playing a very good 2nd base and I think that he will be fine both this year and next year.

As for Kimbrel, his stuff is still very good and it is stuff that I look at. He is having a problem with his release point on his breaking pitch mostly. That is fixable certainly and it will be done before the play-offs. As for Kimbrel's career stats, he will be a HOF inductee. That is pretty darned good to me. All of the people wringing their hands about losing Madrigal are funny to me. Losing a guy who could not help this team win a championship at all this year is no loss.

Well, a curveball in the zone at some point would have been nice.

It was clear Renfroe wasn't going to chase any curveballs beyond the first pitch he saw, and ditto for Devers. It was pretty clear they were identifying his curveball and just waiting for a fastball in the zone.
So at that point, why not throw a curve in the zone (not a get-me-over one, but a legitimate pitch in the zone)?

I think that Kimbrel had very little control of his curve ball at all. His release point was all messed up. Personally, I wouldn't have used Kimbrel in that situation, assuming Tepera was available. And that's another thing. If Kimbrel continues to struggle, the Sox may have to consider using Tepera as their set-up guy.

Yeah all he needed was ONE curveball to be over the plate. They were looking for the heat and just identifying the curve to lay off of it.
