Yippee, we're not the only ones who have an incompetent closer. The Twinks just blew a 2-0 lead in the 9th! C'mon Rays!

Twins got unearned run in top of 10th for a 3-2 lead. Damon hits a walkoff 2 run homer for Capps, their other closer to win it.

Royals are about to win again. They might not be the pushovers everyone thought.

Oh, I think they will finish no lower than third place in the division this year.

It's still too early.

The Royals started out well a couple of times in the last 15 years and then faded into 4th or 5th place in the division.  Let's see what their record is at the All-Star break.  If they're still in 1st or close to it in mid-August, then it's time to consider them a real contender in the AL Central.

More bad defense.  guy at third, GO back to Floyd, who snags it.   Runner at third is about 10 feet off.  Easy pickings.  But Gavin goes to first and then he throws a wild pitch.  just stupid

Hudson's got sick stuff... saw his last start... he gave up a few runs but he struck out 10 in 5.

Someone should have told him the saying is "You can take the shirt off his back", not "You can take the shirt off the rack"...

Reds pitcher Mike Leake was arrested on a shoplifting charge at a downtown department store Monday, accused of trying to steal six shirts valued at $59.88.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=6396358

We've discussed this before... it's pretty likely that the Cubs threw the 1918 Series, and it's likely that the 1914 A's threw their Series to the Braves too.  It was common for players to throw games all up until the early '20s.

I'm just wondering....would they really have to "throw" the series?  Couldn't they have just played their best?
