Some folks giving us good remarks for our returns in those trades. Despite being happy we unloaded who we did I am not pleased with our returns. Especially the pitchers, all around 25 years old already.

At least it sounds like the catcher we got from Houston has a plus arm

Giolito and Lopez moved.

Who's next?

Sox get some top 100 catching prospect.  PeteWard did not like this comment in the review of him:  "Quero is a below-average defender"

PeteWard wants an Officer Ron Karkovice for the next Sox catcher.  Tired of opponents running at will.  Cubs with at least 9 stolen bases in the last two games against Grandal and "at least I'm hitting .158" Zavala

No; I was unaware they were even coming to Denver until last week and am pleased with myself that my ignorance kept me from wasting any money on them.

I protested last year when they came and refused to go because that team pi$$ed me off so much and this year's team pi$$es me off even more.

Kind of a fair weather fan in that sense

So….
My daughter asked me today when we were going to get tickets for the Sox games when they are in Denver. I said “Oh yeah. I  forgot”

This seemed like the appropriate thread to put this post.
Loveland is very unconcerned about scoring tickets. The white Sox at the Rockies.  Hmmmmm…. At least the Rox have already started trading.

Pete Ward do you have any tickets you want to unload?

Agree with PeteWard.

I miss the commiserating on this board.

Weekend series was a microcosm of the season.  One game where the starting pitching flat out sucks, one game where the pitching overall is OK but they can't score quite enough, and one game where they get great pitching and score at least enough runs to win but the lack of a closer comes back to bite them.

The White Sox have signed or agreed to terms with 19 of their 20 draft picks.  Only 12th-round pick (#359): Mathias LaCombe, RHP, Cochise College has not yet agreed to terms. The White Sox have until 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 25, to come to terms with all of its Draft selections.

Info on Mathias LaCombe:
A native of France, LaCombe was a product of Pôle France Baseball de Toulouse and has played for the French National Team. LaCombe came to the United States and pitched in 2023 for Cochise College, a two-year school in Arizona. The right-hander has some arm strength, with a fastball in the 90-95 mph range. His 77-83 mph slider is inconsistent and he varies the length and shape to it. A good athlete and competitor on the mound, he got better in a starting role as the season came to a close. He's committed to Louisiana-Lafayette if the Draft doesn't work out.
