My sources in St. Charles, MO tell me that Buehrle began working out a week ago today (coincidence?) with an eye on making a late-April White Sox comeback.    MB thinks it would be crass to be paid $13 million, so he's taking $12.5, with part of the deal being that his pit bulls get their own clubhouse lockers (complete with little doggie uni's) and two "walkies" a day courtesy of Roger Bossard.

Adam LaRoach, imagine what Abreu was thinking during your stand

From MLB.com

By Jose Abreu / MLB.com  | 4:50 PM ET

I remember my dream of becoming a professional MLB player, to represent my people and to help those I love through this game. Being born in a country where baseball is the national pastime gave me the foundation to become the person and the player I am today.

At 26 years of age, I made a decision to leave my Cuba.

Not knowing what the outcome would be, I, along with a few members of my family, floated away in a small cramped boat for more than 12 hours before reaching Haiti. The waters were rough, the night was scary, and the sun was unforgiving.

I remember looking back as we drifted away, leaving behind my life, my family, my friends, and my 2-year-old son. I could feel my heart pounding harder and harder as we got further away. I knew that even if I made it to my destination safely, I didn't know if I would be able to ever return.

It was the hardest decision I have had to make but it was exactly what needed to happen. I couldn't have imagined how blessed my life was going to be after I left; how my dream of becoming a professional player in the Major Leagues would become a reality, as well as becoming a symbol of pride for my people.

Yet, I lived not knowing if or when I would be able to see my family or be able to go back.

I was so blessed to return to my homeland last year as part of the Baseball Goodwill Tour thanks to the efforts of Major League Baseball, the MLB Players Association, President Obama and the Cuban government.

That empty dark part of my heart was suddenly filled with joy and great appreciation. I treasured every minute I spent with my family, the future heroes of the game, and the beautiful faces of my fans in Cuba. I cried tears of happiness while holding my son and left happy knowing that soon we'll be able to play baseball without boundaries. And thank God, that's exactly how all of my dreams are coming true.

Navarro notified Danks that he's been tipping his pitches. Danks made adjustments, and now Danks is pitching better.

Much more troubling is the "great" Don Cooper & bullpen coach Bobby Thigpen never noticed.

Today's cuts:  Matt Davidson, Leury Garcia, Carlos Sanchez, Tommy Kahnle, Jason Coats.

Among those still in camp but on the roster bubble are first basemen Travis Ishikawa and Jerry Sands, outfielders J.B. Shuck and Jacob May, pitchers Scott Carroll, Jacob Turner and Phillippe Aumont and catcher Hector Sanchez.

Trib article claims two roster spots left.  Cross off Hector Sanchez as I don't expect the White Sox to carry three catchers. Figure 13 hitters/12 pitchers break camp. Hitters are: Abreu, Lawrie, Frazier, Saladino, Rollins, Jackson, Eaton, Milky, Avisail, Navarro, Avila.  That is eleven so it leaves two open spots.  I'm guessing J.B. Shuck and Travis Ishikawa make the 25-man roster. Shuck is good defensively and proved he could hit off the bench last year and Ishikawa over Sands since Travis is a lefty and has considerable more experience as a first baseman to backup Abreu.

I thought I read one of the beat writers say that Shuck has already made the team.

I kind of figured Ishikawa would get the last spot, given that he is a lefty.   And, as Ang pointed out, he is a "legit" 1b back up, although I think any infielder could play 1B.

Sands has to clear waivers to go to AAA, correct?

Yep, Ishakawa has best experience. Sands can go, he is a AAAA player.

Robin Ventura says Jimmy Rollins will start at SS on Opening Day. Tyler Saladino get some starts this year to keep Rollins fresh.

Saw this coming. Rollins has had a great spring, though.

according to Daryl Van Schouwen, the Sun-Times White Sox beat writer.......

Travis Ishikawa will be assigned to Charlotte with Jerry Sands making the 25-man roster.  Explanation is Sands is out of options and is already on the 40-man roster while Ishikawa was signed to a minor league contract and is a non-roster invitee to spring training so he doesn't have to clear waivers.

I bet statistically speaking he will have a great season again this year.

I bet when we are 2.5 games out on august 1st against the division leader he will give up 9ER in 2.1ip. We wont recover.

Shes more into first week trends... look for her to make the move within the next 2 weeks.
