Jeter, that's a "bit curious," not "bi-curious."

Wshfl, I've been demoted.  No one can compare to Kenny in the frozen lobster department.

It's a bad sign when you scan the trib and the only story you chose to read is: Guillen putting his stamp on Marlins.

Rios turns to video to reclaim offensive spark
White Sox center fielder looking to rebound from tough 2011

By Scott Merkin / MLB.com | 02/25/12 4:39 PM EST

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- During this past offseason, Alex Rios went back to his successful past to help reclaim his offense for both the present and the future.

Rios studied video of his swing and his approach from the 2006 and '07 seasons with the Blue Jays, which were part of a three-year stretch when Rios hit a combined .296 with 56 homers, 123 doubles, 246 RBIs and 273 runs scored. And what did the 31-year-old take from these sessions that can be applied to a 2012 comeback?

Well, that information might be released on a need-to-know basis as the upcoming season unfolds. "Every time I talk about the good things that I'm working on, I feel like .... I'm very superstitious," said Rios, speaking to the media Saturday morning after reporting four days before White Sox position players officially are due. "Every time I say something, I feel like everything I've done goes away."

Sale moving into starters’ role for White Sox

13 hours, 34 minutes ago

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP)—Chris Sale is bringing his power arm to the Chicago White Sox’s rotation.

With a fastball reaching 100 mph, the hard-throwing left-hander has thrived in the bullpen, posting a 2.58 ERA and 12 saves in 94 1/3 innings in 2010 and 2011.

Now the Sox want him in a new role: starting pitcher.

Sale is moving to the rotation after the departure of ace Mark Buehrle as a free agent to the Miami Marlins. Sale is building up his strength and adjusting to being a starter this spring training.

“I think he’s already proven he’s one of the top lefty relievers,” Sox pitching coach Don Cooper said.

Anyone believing Viciedo is defensively better than Quentin is delusional

Furthermore I would be pleasantly surprised if Viciedo hits .250 or more.

It really has nothing to do with any comparison to Quentin.  It has to do with who has the better arm:  Viciedo or Rios.

Silence. All scouting reports from here on out will be done in comparison to Quentin.

No it isnt It has to do with speed and being able to run down balls and catching them.

I dont know your reading skills level but you sure missed something, cause I dont believe Viciedo is better than Quentin nor do I believe Quentin was a major league average RFer or better.

Hi folks, I've missed you all.  Looking forward to another White Sox season.  This smells like an 80 win team....just hoping Rios/Peavy/Dunn/Floyd have great first halves and somebody is foolish enough to take them off our hands.

Other than that, just looking forward to watching some ball.

Molina looking to make quick impact
Young right-handed starter likely headed to Double-A

By Scott Merkin / MLB.com | 02/27/12 6:24 PM EST

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The question to Ken Williams was direct, with almost no gray area for interpretation.

Was it true that the White Sox general manager would not have sent incumbent closer Sergio Santos to Toronto back in December if he didn't receive top prospect Nestor Molina in return? The response covered one word.

"Yes," said Williams with a smile, sitting in his golf cart at Camelback Ranch after taking in live batting practice Monday morning. Molina, who recently turned 23, already has thrown a couple of bullpen sessions during the first week of Spring Training and earned strong praise from manager Robin Ventura. But on Tuesday, as part of a group with Philip Humber, Zach Stewart and Dylan Axelrod, Molina will toss live batting practice in his first session against hitters.

Admit it... you'd be happy if he batted .200 but fielded .998.  In fact, you'd take eight .200 hitters, as long as they all can field .998.

Now, THAT'S baseball.
