I've been to the original Red Robin, in Seattle, Eastlake near UW. It was actually good way back when. Good day to you sir.

And to you, sir!  I'll bet there was plenty of parking!

I've been to Jerome.     Has a blast in Prescott.

Actually I always wanted to get to Jerome, since I have an affinity for the old 19th-century Western town thing (used to live in Virginia City).   Wanted to see Sedona too, but I hear it's become very commercialized.  I did make it to Prescott... which I enjoyed.

The commercial area of Sedona offers nothing, the stores are uninteresting although some the mystical crystal-like stuff is fun to mock. But they can't screw up the magnificent hiking! The drive north out of Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, is breathtaking.

Seriously, I'd reconsider screwing around with some stupid spring training game.

Sox OF prospect Short out 4-5 months after surgery

By Mark Gonzales Tribune reporter - 11:45 a.m. CDT, March 12, 2012

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Brandon Short underwent successful surgery Monday morning on his left shoulder at Rush University Medical Center.

Short suffered a labrum tear after crashing into the center field fence Thursday at Surprise while unsuccessfully trying to make a catch. Short is expected to resume baseball activities in 12 weeks but isn’t expected to return to full strength from four to five months.

Dunn scratched because of stiff neck; Sox lose 6-3

By Mark Gonzales Tribune reporter - 6:10 p.m. CDT, March 13, 2012

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Chicago White Sox slugger Adam Dunn was scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday against San Diego because of a stiff neck.

Dunn's neck and shoulder were wrapped Tuesday morning, but he was in good spirits.

The Sox, however, committed two errors in the fifth inning that led to four runs and enabled San Diego to take a 6-3 win at Peoria Sports Complex.

Love that donkey!

Please make it the main page pic! For keeps!!

EDIT: actually, are you sure that's not a burro? It's hard to get scale  in that pic, but I'm thinking it is.

EDIT EDIT: a burro IS a donkey.

The Sox should use that sombrero'd Dunn pic for his roster image on the team website.

It's really hard to dislike someone who's wearing a sombrero.  They're just... fun.

De Aza stays positive, focused in spring camp
Hitting coach Manto impressed with outfielder's work ethic

By Jim Thomas / MLB.com | 03/16/12 5:59 PM ET

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Even though Alejandro De Aza has yet to play a full season in the Major Leagues, he's been in professional baseball long enough to know the No. 1 rule is to never take anything for granted. Many factors can derail the best-laid plans, or worse, shatter dreams.

De Aza is doing everything in his power during Spring Training to make sure those factors don't come into play this season.

De Aza is slated to be the White Sox's starting center fielder and leadoff hitter. He capitalized on an opportunity late last season, and has done all he can this spring to hold onto his roles. He knows first-hand how quickly fortunes can change.

Peavy quiets naysayers with stellar outing
After some iffy outings, Sox starter throws 5 no-hit innings

By Dave van Dyck, Chicago Tribune reporter - 9:06 p.m. CDT, March 17, 2012

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Point made.

Jake Peavy believed he needed to show doubters he still can pitch, so he used the Mariners as his personal punching bag Saturday when he threw five no-hit innings at them.

The only flaw in his performance was a leadoff walk in the second. But he struck out five batters, including four of the first six, and allowed only three fly balls while lowering his spring ERA from 18.69 to 8.68.

"There's no doubt, I was very pleased to go out and have good stuff, to show you (media) guys and my teammates that it's there," Peavy said. "We'll see how often and how much is there."

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but don't the Mariners have at best a AAA offense?

Jordan Danks' homer sparks White Sox win
Shot in 10th first of spring; Johnson starts rally with two-run HR

By AJ Cassavell / MLB.com | 03/18/12 7:30 PM ET

MESA, Ariz. -- The White Sox clinched a preseason split with their crosstown rivals with Jordan Danks' 10th-inning home run lifting the South Siders to a 7-5 victory over the Cubs.

Danks led off the extra frame with his first spring home run off Marcus Mateo. The White Sox then added an unearned run.

Trailing, 5-3, the Cubs got two bases-loaded walks in the eighth inning to forge a tie.

The White Sox rallied for five runs in the top of the sixth inning. Dan Johnson started the rally by crushing a two-run homer off his former Rays teammate Andy Sonnanstine, and they added three more in the frame against the Cubs' right-hander.

Sox are beating up on Cy Chen today. Dunn with 2 hr's -- against a lefthander!! This Escobar kid seems to be hitting the snot out of the ball.

Peavy with 6 k's, 0 ER in 6 IP in a minor league game. Viciedo with 3 bombs in that game also.

It's only spring training, i know, but at least it's nice to see some good stats once in awhile.

Also heard that Dunn only has 1 strikeout all spring so far. Hope this is a sign of good things to come from him.

It's true!

Shockingly the Big Donkey has only struck out once in the official Cactus League games.

I may be the Lone Ranger here but if I were KW, the correct call would be to send Viciedo and his .111 BA and OF defensive problems to AAA Charlotte. Now were he hitting .400 and my name was Fury I'd keep him in Chicago in LF and live with his mistakes, but not at .111

Wshfl, I see that you're rooting for Viciedo to fail.

But I would agree that he may need to go to Charlotte to get his stroke back.

Sorry to destroy your logic but I sure didnt say I was rooting for him to fail, just pointing out that he has failed so far in his attempt to make the 2012 roster. He doesnt appear ready to hit major league pitching which was the big questionmark when they traded Quentin. The good part about sending him down to AAA is that he is only 23 and not 33. The bad part is KW has g*a*m*b*l*e*d that Viciedo would be ready but it appears he is wrong like he has been wrong about a lot of things lately. When Viciedo was signed out of Cuba he was supposed to be a 3Bman but that didnt work out. They still havent found a position he can play in the major leagues. From what I have seen of him in ST which is very limited he doesnt appear much better defensively than Soriano. You know the Sox have thrown a lot of money at that kid and he appears to be a bust.
