If his name was Rocket LaDeuche, he'd sound like a character out of Bull Durham.

Hardly anyone's here in my office today.  So of course I'm thinking of setting some stuff on fire.

Suit: Wine expert created blog to trash Yelp critic

BY LISA DONOVAN  AND ALLISON HORTON Staff Reporters January 12, 2012 12:20PM

A Chicago woman who took her complaints about a local sommelier and his food and wine pairing class to the Internet said she got more than a taste of revenge from the businessman.

Cecelia Groark’s post on Yelp, the popular online review site, about Bottled Grapes in Albany Park allegedly yielded an angry response from owner Krunch Kretschmar, an internationally known sommelier. She claims he started a blog about her that accused her of “embezzling” from her employer, of having a drug addiction and of “turning to the oldest profession to gain funds need[ed] to support her habits.”

The online battle is detailed in a lawsuit Groark filed this week in Cook County Circuit Court that accuses Kretschmar of posting “malicious and false statements” and seeks more than $650,000 in damages for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Loveland, I did open one of the complete sets, wanted to check it out. The cards are not even in numeric order, no order at all. So then I panicked and sorted them to make sure, and they were all there. I keep all my Sox in a binder and am tempted to open all my sets to take the Sox out, but that would likely not be a good business decision.

Boat, yes, this is what retirement is for me. I was like Blackie, tons of cards and moved them over and over again. This was needed. I know one thing, I have even more cards than I expected, and 90% of them are Topps.

I have the Ripken "fuhk-face" card, and I also have the '57 Aaron reverse negative card.

I also have a '57 Mantle that is probably my best card.

Still have all my old Hostess (RIP) and Kellogg's cards as well...

Which year is Ripken's card? Is it Topps? I should be finishing today. Then I will add them all up, has taken me 3-4 weeks and about 10-12 hours a day.

Watched it again- cool use of mirrors and black and white colors, weird mom stuff, and doppelgänger ideas, but still pretty cryptic. Like "No Country For Old Men", it's obvious that "huh?" was what the director was going for. We can play around with the mindphuck that is Memento as well. .. .is that a good movie? I thought so- others think it was stupid masturbatory thing.

Anyhoo, is that a good thing in movies? That open-ended-subject-to audience-interpretation thing? Or do you want it resolved as it was in "The Usual Suspects".

Deuche says "discuss".

I enjoy the movies that are left open to interpretation.... the well done ones allow you to watch them over and perhaps come to a different conclusion depending on your perspective or observation at that time.

Some "open to interpretation" can be quite good, but not if its too overdone.   "You get three shakes, then you're playing with it", as they used to say.

The point of "No Country For Old Men" was that some evil phuckers just need to be taken down.

"Memento"... meh.

i thought that the point was some evil phuckers persist no matter what...

I really liked memento... have never really quite figured it out... do have my own conclusion... but who knows if its what Nolan was trying to get across.

That's exactly how I feel about it.  Some directors just get too cute.

I love my 1962 Nellie Fox jello card, except I could not cut a straight ****ing line with a scissors at that age.

MSF neglects to point out that he was 24 at the time.  It wasn't until his early-30s that "the nice doctor" let him use the sharp scissors.

You can only work with what they provide.

How are you doing 4n?

MrsMSF got us tickets for one of the items on my bucket list. Going to NYC in March to see Allman Bros. at the Beacon. Have never seen them, have seen Trucks and Haynes numerous times in other gigs, but never together.

George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television": "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits".
