He will be missed. That is sad to hear. how old was NJ?

He was about my age or a bit younger. Early to mid 50's I would guess, the obit did not give a ton of info.

Can we change the banner to this in honor of Jheter and his legacy?

Sure or I could use this one that JhonJeter created back in January 2012:

.....or I can use JJ's favorite photo here:

You pick which one Joey.  Please post your choice on this thread.

Done.

Now how long should we leave it there?  A week?  30 days?  The rest of this baseball season?

Whatever works. Maybe thru end of this month, or until the AS Game.

Sad to hear about Mr. Jheter. I enjoyed his unique humor. He was even funnier in person than on these boards. RIP...

Still thinking about Jeter a lot.  He called me a good sport.  I considered that high praise considering the source.

There you go.  It's little things, like using the phrase "good sport."   He sure had wit, that's for sure.  Sad.

This totally sucks.

Can someone post the obit link? I can't find his facebook page.

I loved talking Andy Griffith with him.

I met him a couple times and he was. Same humor offline as online. One time at a Sox tailgate he and his wife brought some Chinese food that was really great, I cannot recall what it was however. Some kind of roll, not egg roll or spring roll. It was deelish.

And now yesterday I lose one of my best friends here in Rochester. Sudden heart attack, cripes. Just spent Friday night at his place too and all seemed just fine.
