The White Sox are now in search of rotation depth, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter).  After trading Edwin Jackson on Wednesday, General Manager Ken Williams & Co. believe that they are in need of starting pitching.

Without Jackson, the White Sox have gone from a six man rotation to a starting five which consists of Mark Buehrle, John Danks, Jake Peavy, Gavin Floyd, and Philip Humber.  Earlier today, Williams said that it was highly unlikely that he would make another trade before the deadline.

Cards are close for a deal for Furcal and Bedard. I thought for sure they were a 3rd or 4th place team this year and here they are flip flopping between first and second place and looking to get stronger.

As bad as things are for us just take a look aross town and realize it could be worse. Saw the Cubs jumped out to a 5-0 lead yesterday and then got clobbered 13-5. They only got 1 hit after the first inning. That team is a bigger disaster than we are.

If Kenny's idea of good is one step above the horrible Cubs he is sorely mistaken. Mediocre(.500) with a 125 Mill payroll.

If talking about the Cubs gives one comfort, go for it. I thought they became irrelevant, even to Cub-vs-Sox diehards, way back in yo ought 5.

Does it give me comfort? Not at all. But you can't help noticing just how bad the other team in town is. And are they irrelevant? Nope. This is still a Cubs town so no, they're not irrevelant to a lot of Sox diehards.

If the Cubs were doing well this year, combined with the Sox doing really bad, this season would be even more miserable because of Cub fan jackasses acting like....well, jackasses, and the media slobbering all over the Cubs and acting as if the Sox don't exist.

It was an observation, nothing more. No one here, not even Shoe, has really even talked about the Cubs much this year.

Understood. I've actually paid a bit of attention to them as the trade deadline approached and am very surprised they didn't move Ramirez. I also pay attention to them when they're playing the Pirates, because they're a nice story this year.

The Indians were awarded the claim on Thome, while the White Sox were awarded the claim on Kubel, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports. Thome has a full-no trade clause and would prefer to play for the Phillies, according to Rosenthal. It's unlikely that the Twins will move Kubel, Rosenthal reports. The sides have discussed a possible extension.

You got a source for that garbage? Why would Walker retire when he is in the last year of his contract as are all the other assistants and Ozzie was extended in what January? The GM, either current or new can hire whatever manager and coaching staff he chooses.

Personally KW needs to go. We need a new GM. Of all the coaches I like Cooper the best
