The White Sox have been linked, albeit loosely, to Moustakas, and it still seems as if the Chicago organization could have some tricks up its sleeves. While the focus, no doubt, remains on the future, the club is going to have some solid veterans and high-end young talents on the roster for the coming season. With just over $70MM on the books for 2018, perhaps the organization could yet pursue some one-year or multi-year deals that would hold out the promise of delivering excess value. Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is a “possibility” for the South Siders, per Heyman. It stands to reason that the Sox might hold added appeal to players such as Gonzalez if they are willing to offer more playing time than might be available elsewhere.

The White Sox have acquired righty Ricardo Pinto from the Phillies for an unknown amount of international bonus pool money.

Rays released Dan Hudson. Maybe we should bring him home, since we're collecting iffy RPs...

"Thompson becomes another young player who could perform well enough to impress the front office and work himself into consideration for its long-term plans"

Yeah that could happen but he failed in that regard with three other clubs this year.

Didn't someone just post an article about how excited he was to be back in the Bay area with his brother?  He must be bummin' big time

I'd rather have Saladino - tho his back issues are a problem.

Trayce is better than Adam E, and Salidino is worthless.

Blackie, Trayce is on the 25 man roster now.

just about anyone is better than Eaton, but Thompson may be the only guy with a worse bat.

I'd hoped Evan Skoug would make up for some of the pain of Zack Collins, but it appears he can't hit either.

Rutherford now hitting .404. His inability to hit last year after we traded for him worried me.

Skoug is nothing, not a chance. Our next catcher is not in our system. Rutherford had 6 doubles in his first 9 games. Gets the bat on the ball, when he learns to lift the ball and gets a little stronger he could be a player. Only 20 and in High A ball. Thompson sucks so bad.

Adam Eaton is 10 times the ballplayer Thompson is, just needs to stay healthy. I hate him, glad he is not a Sox, but no one would have traded us 3 prospects for Thompson.

To follow up on Juan's post...

Weird, but okay I guess.   No word on who takes Saladino's place with the Big Club.

I would guess Thompson replaces Saladino. Leury can play infield and Yolmer can move to SS at times. No need for another infielder.

Laughing about when we traded Thompson. Frigging Method was all up in arms how Frankie Montas was going to haunt us, he even in the league?

Montas is a reliever with Oakland I think. Still only 25.

Never mind, he was sent to AAA this year.
