Loveland is on cloud 9.  Q is finally good for something.   Double bonus is that I cannot wait for him to pitch just good enough to lose for the Chicago National League ballclub.  What A Day!!!!

Jeff Passan article:

The White Sox now have the best farm system in baseball. This is inarguable. It’s not just Jimenez and Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech, three of the top 10 or 15 prospects in the game. Their depth is frightening. It’s fair to say Dane Dunning, a right-handed pitcher acquired in the Adam Eaton deal, is somewhere in the vicinity of their 12th-best prospect. It’s also fair to say Dunning would be the No. 1 prospect in a good five to seven other organizations.

Most striking in this trade wasn’t the fact that it was the first of any significance in a quarter century between the crosstown teams. It was how the White Sox are priming themselves to take back the city right around the time the Cubs face a gauntlet of difficult decisions. Quintana’s contract runs through 2020. Rizzo, Schwarber, Kris Bryant, Addison Russell, Javier Baez and Mike Montgomery all are set to hit free agency after 2021. By then, Moncada will be well-established, Jimenez settling into stardom and the White Sox free to have supplemented that jab of cheap players with a righteous hook of free agent stars.

This part of Passan's article seems inaccurate, though: The Quintana trade also reinforces just how deep the Cubs believe in Schwarber: With Jason Heyward occupying right field and Anthony Rizzo at first base, the Cubs had just one spot for Schwarber or Jimenez. They chose Schwarber.

There have been multiple accounts now saying the Cubs wanted to Schwarber in the deal, not Jimenez, but Hahn would not back off his demand for Jimenez. There were also reports that the Cubs offered Schwarber to the Tigers for either Verlander or Fulmer but were declined.

Chicago White Sox
@whitesox
#WhiteSox have acquired OF Eloy Jiménez, RHP Dylan Cease, 1B Matt Rose & INF Bryant Flete from the Cubs in exchange for LHP José Quintana.

Wow!    Hell hath frozen over.   MSF, whaddaya think of the prospects?
Gotta like it. Two chodes (Flete and Rose) cannot even mess it up. Jiminez with a 2 run single this evening already. Cease is one I really like. Cubs have treated him with kid gloves and he is about ready to show what he can do.

So the Dash played Myrtle Beach today; how cool.   Flete and Rose also played.    So which three guys on W-S found out this morning that they either got promoted, demoted or released?

So we've shipped out Q, Sale and Eaton so far with the main guys we've gotten back being Dunning, Giolito, Lopez, Moncada, Kopech, Eloy and Cease.

We gone for boom or bust high ceiling guys. All of them have high bust potential... i hope we chase after some high floor guys in the next draft or when we move Abreu and Robertson

There's no such thing as high floor guys.  And not sure where this boom or bust is coming from. Hahn's deals have been universally praised for the abundance of talent he has acquired.

C'mon Method, you seem to continually find something to groan about with all these deals. You think Hahn lost by not holding out for Benitendi (that was just not happening, just like Hahn asked Theo for Kris Bryant and that didnt' happen). Now you seem to imply Hahn didn't get a better player than Eloy. Either your expectations are way too high or you just don't want to give the Sox org any due praise for whatever reason.

Like Shoe said, Hahn has been universally lauded for all these deals, big time. If the Sox do as well as expected in a few years Hahn will be Theo 2.0. Get on board!!

Released OF Landon Lassiter (again), released 1Bman Telvin Nash, and put INF Sam Dexter on 7 day DL

Quintana arrived in Baltimore on Friday morning and was recognized by some Cubs fans at the baggage carousel at the airport, where he posed for photos. A few teased him because his gear was in a White Sox bag.

I know its doubtful this type of trade is made. but i would love for the sox to go get Adam Frazier from the Pirates.

still has 4 years control left, high contact rate hitter and gets good at-bats.
