Fury will hate me for saying this but I think I gotta pull for the A's this postseason. I don't like the Angels and don't care one way or the other about Baltimore but I like the moves the A's have made. I'd like to see them win it all.

Tigers also give up Willy Adames to the Rays.

They now have the last 3 AL Cy Young winners in their rotation.

When's the last time that happened, I wonder....

Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz. (well, not AL, **** just noticed you had AL)

Well, in either league.

Yeah - Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz... and depending on your definition of "the last 3 Cy Young winners," you could make a case for Randy Johnson I suppose (4 years in a row...).

Not only the last three Cy Young on the Tigers, also the last three MVP's.

The Diamondbacks have acquired outfielder Blake Tekotte from the White Sox for cash, per the MLB.com transactions page. Tekotte, who made 36 plate appearances for the White Sox in 2013 good for a slash of .226/.306/.355, will report to Triple-A Reno. The 27-year-old posted a .251/.324/.438 line in 318 plate appearances for the White Sox’s Triple-A affiliate.

Micah time?

Micah is shelved with some leg problems. Was likely to sit rest of season. Maybe this makes a diff, doubt it. Semien or Sanchez will play 2nd.

when I heard them tease the trade on MLB Network, my first thought was John Danks to the Angels.  Hope that's still to come.

Kay clarifies that the Angels will send a PTBNL or cash considerations to the White Sox in exchange for Beckham, not both, as he initially announced

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/08/angels-acquire-gordon-beckham.html

DiPoto: "I'll give you $10 or one of our sh*tty prospects"

Hahn:  "$10 won't even get me a microbrew at the park"

Williams: "We need at least a $100 Darden Restaurants gift card"

Hahn: "I am not taking you to Red Lobster"

DiPoto: "$30 and we'll pay his luggage fee, or one of our sh*tty prospects. Final offer"

Williams: "I wanted it for Olive Garden..."

Hahn: "$30 could get me a haircut...minus the tip..."

DiPoto: "I have a discount coupon for new customers at Sport Clips."

Williams: "That's more than I got for Ray Durham!"

Hahn: "Do I have to decide between the two right now?"

DiPoto: "No. You can take some time"

Williams: "If you choose the sh*tty prospect, make sure you spell his name right..."

Hahn: "Deal."

On other message boards (SoxTalk) and on sports talk radio, I've read/heard it proffered by some that Hahn held onto Beckham too long -- that he should have traded him earlier and instead wound up with "nothing".

When exactly do these people think that Beckham have any decent trade value?   Back in 2009, maybe?    Methnks these folks are significantly overvaluing Beckham's trade value these past few years.

Rusney Castillo to the Red Sox.

Hope Hahn is calling them about Betts and Bradley.

Matt Davidson, 3b, White Sox. Davidson has power, unquestionably, though he’s been helped by Triple-A Charlotte’s the homer-happy BB&T Ballpark. The righthanded hitter has 19 jacks, but he’s also struck out 148 times and is hitting just .201. This week, he was 2-for-26 with eight whiffs. Swing-and-miss will always be a part of his game, but he’s been a victim of bad luck this year. Last year at Triple-A Reno, Davidson’s average on balls in play was .359; this year, it’s .252.

Yeah, those are typical morons.  When Beckham was playing well early, there was no trade market.

Javier Baez is doing that and everyone loves him.

I think he's on pace for over 300 Ks over a full season.

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn appeared on the Mully and Hanley show last Friday and said that his staff is pleased with the results of the 2013-14 offseason, and he expects to be active in free agency this offseason.

Hahn also sang the praises of top pick Carlos Rodon, saying that he’s even more advanced than the team had anticipated, and his transition to pro ball has been nearly seamless. Hahn did downplay, to an extent, the rumors surrounding a potential September callup for Rodon: “…ultimately the decision to bring him up or not bring him up is going to be about what’s best for his long-term development. We’re going to have to be real cautious before we decide just to bring him up and run him out there in big league games this year.”

OK, so what would be wrong about bringing him up for a few appearances?
