new version also has howie kendrick to the whitesox.

Proposed deal would include Trumbo + 2 prospects to #DBacks, Skaggs + Santiago to #Angels, Kendrick + Eaton to #WhiteSox. Not done.

i am guessing both prospects are coming from the WS....

Disagree. OFs are a dime a dozen. Young LH pitching comes at a premium.

I don't like this at all unless we're getting something more than Eaton. We've been linked to Headley, a bigger deal that brings Headley as well would make more sense. We need a 3B. Maybe Alexei?

Well...if Kendrick is included you have to wonder if Beckham gets moved back to 3B or gets jettisoned in another trade.

12:22pm: The deal is "getting pretty close," a source tells MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez (Twitter link). Though he was discussed in a separate trade with the White Sox and Angels, Kendrick is not part of this deal, Gonzalez adds.

12:10pm: USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the three teams are optimistic about their chances of finalizing the trade (Twitter link). Meanwhile, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic agrees with Gilbert's report from below, noting that Arizona would receive one prospect from the Angels and one from the Sox (also on Twitter).

Excellent deal. Eaton has chance to really shine in a lead-off role... he isnt a fa til after 2018.

Ugh. Eaton better pan out. Otherwise I think Santiago is going to make us regret this one.

I'm also going to assume this means DeAza is on his way out, which is too bad. I consider him to be an asset.
A replacement for Viciedo would have been better.

LH hitter that can lead off and has had amazing OBP in the minors. Is he fast enough to play CF, that is the question.

Oh, we also owe the DBacks a player to be named later. Likely one of our minor league outfielders I guess. They can have any of Mitchell, Thompson, Walker or Jacobs. I could care less. I would rather have the type of OF that it appears Hahn wants.

6:06pm: The other Diamondbacks player to be named will likely be Brandon Jacobs, MLB.com's Jim Callis suggests (via Twitter). John Gambadoro of Sports 620 KTAR in Phoenix was the first to suggest Jacobs with the likely PTBNL. Jacobs, 23, came to the White Sox from the Red Sox in the Matt Thornton deal in July. The outfielder hit .244/.320/.407 for three teams at Class A+ and Double-A in 2013

No big loss in Jacobs...

MSf... i think he can do CF... would love to see them move dayan and move de aza to left.

deaza/eaton/garcia would work well.

That's what I'm thinking. Unfortunately, Viciedo's power potential is a scarce commodity, which is why Arizona traded for Trumbo in the first place, so I think Viciedo is staying in LF.

Dayan and DeAza can form a decent platoon in left, with Kong and Dunn platooning at DH. Now we got to find a 3B (or 2B) and catcher.

Agree. I liked Santiago alot but he didn't seem to get better. Great stuff. Lots of negativity on the airwaves this morning but sheesh, Garcia, Abreu and Eaton and peeps are saying the White Sox haven't done much. Good lord, lets give Ellsbury 150 mil. Hahn is on the right track. Just keep Kenny away

Me thinks they will move Dunn. Cripes, if WS eat about 1/2 of the contract, Dunn is a steal at today's prices.

My hope is they move Dunn, even if we just release him, let Viciedo DH. However, that would remove another LH bat from lineup. Outfield of DeAza, Eaton and Garcia just might save some runs.

Metodo, just how fast is this Eaton guy. Only 7 steals?? I read that his defense is what lost him the job. But they also blamed it on a lingering injury.

Not really blocked by Pollack. He had the job, they are giving it to Pollack after this guy did not impress enough.

he stole 46 across 3 lvls in 2012.... 42 over 3 in 2011.

Gibson doesnt really give him the green light in AZ... if they let him run he should end up with 25-30 a year.
