Think about some of the other guys KW tried to get that would have made a ton of difference:  Torii Hunter should be roaming CF and then we wouldn't be stuck with Rios and Miguel Cabrera could have been our DH.

Of course, that's assuming both guys wouldn't automatically lose their skills upon putting on a White Sox uniform.
