They seem bad, veryickybad. . .yet they are only 5.5 out (7 in loss column) with a long way to go. If a couple of these knobs even string together 10-15 games where they are hitting to HALF their potential, they somehow can stick around. . . and they do have pitching.

That being said, they do indeed blow.

Gee, maybe you should explain these nicknames you've created.  Don't just keep them in your private little world.

Boy, say what you want about Derek Jeter and how he's overrated or whanot but the guy is Mr. Showtime. Hits a homer for his 3,000 hit and goes 5-5 in the game.

Solid hitting OF? What for? We acquire bats and they become worthless, not sure why, hard to believe it is just due to Walker.

•Edwin Jackson - It’s not surprising that clubs are inquiring on Jackson given that he has posted a 4.05 ERA with 9.1 K/9 and 1.4 BB/9 this month. And his 2.52 xFIP suggests he has pitched better than his ERA indicates.

Good, cut him loose and get a good hitter for him.

Sounds to me like you should be a fan of a National League team.

Done. Or should I say 'Dunn'.  Temporary name change for the next few days.

What's all this I hear about Diane Vissiado's watch?   Who is she, and why does everyone care about what she uses to tell time?

Quentin rumors weren’t the only buzzards circling the Sox. There were whispers that it could be “Black Monday’’ for one or several coaches. According to a source, removing coaches still is not a path chairman Jerry Reinsdorf wants to walk down. Williams is a different story, but the chairman gets what the chairman wants.

This would be a great time to deal Quentin.  Kenny can even bring up Viciedo to play right and pretend he's still all in.

At the very least, they should trade Jackson for a right-handed reliever and a prospect, and then bring up Viciedo and send Sale down to get stretched out for when Peavy goes down again in case he's needed to start for them this year.

I can sympathize with that if its ones opinion that right around the corner Peavey is going to breakdown.

I heard this from Garfien on the post game show. He said the Cardinals need a starter. He said they were hot for Edwin Jackson. He said either Thornton or Jackson for Colby Rasmus. Garfien said it was a hot rumor.

From MLB trade rumors:

Cardinals, White Sox Talking Colby Rasmus
By Luke Adams [July 24 at 10:56am CST]

Despite publicly insisting they don't intend to trade Colby Rasmus, the Cardinals have engaged in discussions with the White Sox about the outfielder, reports Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Strauss says talks between the two teams have "accelerated" within the last few days.

According to Strauss, Edwin Jackson and Matt Thornton are among the players who could interest the Cardinals. The Cards would also be looking for minor league talent from the White Sox, and a third team "may be sought to facilitate a deal."

The Nationals and Rays also remain interested in Rasmus, who has seen a recent decline in his playing time as Jon Jay has taken over as St. Louis's primary center fielder.
