As long as his salary is off the books, it's a win.

He was thrown in as a salary dump to help offset the payroll the Yanks took on for Robertson and Frazier.

If the PTBNL has a pulse, that's a plus.

One name I have heard rumored is 2B Tony Kemp.

Clippard has a pretty good track record and had a 1.80 ERA for us. We should get something decent...

But Houston also has a record of not giving up anything of value in trades. Its why I suggested toilet paper.

Question of the day....Who gets the callup to replace Clippard on the roster? Should be a pitcher I would presume.

Holmberg.   :)

Probably Dylan Covey or Al Alburquerque.

I would guess Covey, but I would think Farquhar ahead of Alburquerque. I just wanted to try and spell those two names.

Forgot about Farquhar.   I'm guessing it will be some old guy reclamation project that they possibly could showcase & flip in the next two weeks.

Could also be Lowe or Machi, the two guys we picked up from Seattle AAA team, both ex big leaguers I believe.

Heyman with the scoop of the year:

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports the White Sox would like to work out trades for Gonzalez, Holland and reliever Tyler Clippard, all of whom will be free agents this offseason.

No one is looking at Holland as a starter. As a LOOGY out of the pen, he could be interesting. Sox should probably call up Giolito and move Holland into that role to give teams a look.

Makes sense, good idea.

Calling up Giolito would be stupid - he's really stunk at AAA.

Sharpie you haven't been following Giolito's last 5 or 6 starts, he's been great in all of them except one. Tonight was another example. They would be nuts not to bring him up, just to see if this late improvement plays in the Show.

Sooner you bring them up sooner they become a FA. Giolito still has to pitch better before I'd give him service time.

I still think it's silly having Moncada on the 25 roster. I get no joy in watching him struggle, I find it painful.

Moncada needed 100+ ABs at the major league level. Only way you get better
