My guess is Colby Rasmus would solve the CF problem. I cant believe the Mets are playing Beltran in CF. I doubt we are a player for Beltran. I would expect we are still in the Rasmus sweepstakes. I believe the Cardinals still want Thornton.

I don't see Kenny's machinations making the Sox better, except possibly by subtraction.  And whatever happens, we're still stuck with Rios.

I'll be happy to see the new blood.

Also, I'm not sure you could ever really pay too much to get rid of Teahen.  As long as they keep insisting that he contnue to take up a roster spot and even appear in a game from time to time.

Note the fourth pic, one of the basementeers has been standing (or sitting rather) quite a vigil waiting for something to happen:

Prior to today's game vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox acquired right-handed pitchers Jason Frasor and Zach Stewart from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-hander Edwin Jackson and infielder Mark Teahen. Stewart will be optioned to Class AAA Charlotte.

Frasor, 33, is 2-1 with a 2.98 ERA (14 ER/42.1 IP) and 37 strikeouts in 44 relief appearances with Toronto this season. The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder is tied for the team lead with 10 holds and has limited opponents to a .244 (38-156) average, including a .228 (18-79) mark by right-handers.

A native of Chicago who resides in Oak Forest, Ill., Frasor has gone 24-28 with a 3.69 ERA (189 ER/461.0 IP) and 426 strikeouts in 455 appearances over eight major-league seasons, all with Toronto (2004-11). He has posted 36 saves and 71 holds while averaging 8.3 strikeouts per 9.0 IP. Opponents have batted just .235 (403-1,715) against Frasor, with right-handers hitting .226 (212-937).

Frasor's best season came in 2009 when he went 7-3 with a 2.50 ERA (16 ER/57.2 IP) and 11 saves in 61 games with the Blue Jays and held right-handers to a .140 (14-100) batting average.

Frasor was acquired by the Blue Jays from Los Angeles-NL on March 30, 2004 in return for outfielder Jason Werth. He attended Oak Forest High School and graduated from Southern Illinois University.

Stewart, 24, was 5-5 with a 4.20 ERA (44 ER/94.1 IP) in 16 starts with Class AA New Hampshire this season and was named to the Eastern League midseason All-Star Team. He also went 0-1 with a 4.86 ERA (9 ER/16.2 IP) in his first three major-league starts with Toronto, making his debut on June 16 vs. Baltimore (2 ER/7.0 IP).

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has gone 18-13 with a 3.05 ERA (125 ER/368.2 IP) in 100 games (56 starts) over four minor-league seasons. Stewart was selected by Cincinnati in the third round of the 2008 draft, and then traded to Toronto with infielder Edwin Encarnacion and pitcher Josh Roenicke on August 1, 2009 in exchange for third baseman Scott Rolen.

Jackson, 27, is 7-7 with a 3.92 ERA (53 ER/121.2 IP) and 97 strikeouts in 19 starts this season. He was acquired from Arizona on July 31, 2010 in exchange for pitchers David Holmberg and Daniel Hudson and went 11-9 with a 3.66 ERA (80 ER/196.2 IP) and 174 strikeouts in 30 starts with the Sox.

Teahen, 29, batted .209 (24-115) with three home runs and 11 RBI in 50 games with the Sox this season. He was acquired from Kansas City on November 6, 2009 in exchange for infielders Chris Getz and Josh Fields and hit .241 (84-348) with seven homers and 36 RBI in 127 games from 2010-11.

Rasmus looks alot like Rios this year.

We need to line up our next pitching wave. Stewart is a nice pickup and the subtraction of Teahen certainly doesn't hurt.
You can't be paying a useless utility guy that kind of money.

The Cardinals will send Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet, and P.J. Walters to the Blue Jays for Jackson, Rzepczynski, Dotel, and Corey Patterson, tweets ESPN's Buster Olney.  Olney adds that Miller is then expected to be traded to the White Sox.

Not sure what we'd do with Miller, unless Ohman is going somewhere. They're the same guy.

And a year's worth of Jackson.

Let's face it - if we had any resemblance of an offense, we're in 1st place and Jackson goes nowhere.

Stewart sounds like a typical KW/Coop project -- high pedigree guy who is stumbling.  Don't mind that pickup, just thought we could get more for Jackson.

Looking at the package Tor sent, STL got a starter, reliever, 4th OF-type . . . not sure how much salary Tor had to take on in all those guys, but that was probably the sticking point for STL on a direct trade.

According to one fansite it seems some cards fans are very unhappy with what they received in the trade.

hahah, I was trying to figure out what was going on there too. I thought at first those were sheets thrown over the windows to keep evil dreaded sunlight out. But I think you're right, it's a stylish doorway dressing, like a Japanese screen. It looks to be a sheet of several superheroes, I also see Spiderman- but who the hell is Ghost Rider?

I am with you ISF, I like the trade, we dump salary, which we all new would happen. We got a decent reliever and we already have 5 starters. Rasmus is not well liked in StL

I like the trade a lot.  Got rid of some salary, BP is stronger, and got a solid young pitcher back.  Rasmus blows.  Cancer and corey p redux
