This is painful.  I know they're supposed to suck but do they have to suck this bad?

just watched the 3-2 pitch Delmonico walked on in the 8th over at ESPN, it was clearly strike 3, side view shows it was above the knee.

that was the game.

Moncada was called out earlier with 2 on. 7 pitches. Not a single one was a strike

As NJ used to say, if you are going to be bad, be comically bad.... and we are right about there now.

Delmonico out with a broken right hand:

Is Avi ready to return from the DL?  Or will Charlie Tilson be called up?

Fulmer NEVER should have started the season with the Sox, what a complete joke. Thank god we got a manager who isn't a total idiot!

Let Volsted start for a while & bring up a reliever. Otherwise it's Dylan Covey time again.

Gomez, Cedeno & Schahill are the best guys at AAA. Cedeno is a lefty & we're filled with lefties, so make it Gomez.

As far as replacing Delmonico, we have no OFs at AAA. I mean no one. Elmore? We may have to make a minor deal. Melky recently signed with Cleveland's AAA team. We may have to buy someone like him.

We also have 40 roster problems that limit our options.

seems like the Sox roster is filled at 40. So we're screwed.

Nice roster management by the bright boys in the front office

Giolito - 6 IP 102 pitches, 59 strikes

not good, but I'll take the 2 ER.

After spring training, I was so sure Giolito was going to bust out this year. What happened. He had decent command through spring training.

Gio's BB/9 is 6.43 this year - pretty horrific.

minor league performance does matter. Last year he stunk at AAA. His BB/9 stood out as bad.

bad control will hurt a guy who throws 91 more than a guy who hits 98.

his future is all about throwing strikes.

Farmer & Jackson were saying on the radio that pitch track showed umps weren't calling his curve for a strike on a fairly consistent basis for some reason.

He had a bad 1st half last year in AAA, the sort of turned it on in 2nd half, but no where as good as he was with us for those couple months. As Sharp says the walks are killing him. He will be ok, he is throwing well, tho they say not as hard as last year. I too thought during the spring he was pretty good.

Yes for Q!
