The white on black was awful.  This was as close to plain normal black on white as the options allowed.

I definetly disagree with white on black being bad...

I spend about 10-11 hours a day in front of a computer monitor... and there is nothing more straining on your eyes then hugely white background with black lettering.

It might take a little bit to get used to the other colour scheme... but it is much better for your eyes.

I'd wager the peeps that felt that background was more straining then this one, need to take a visit to the eye doctor to get a new script for their glasses.

I hate the Orangina too, so (not to beat a dead horse) I used the NoSquint add-on on my FireFox browser to remove all the orange borders, changed the color of the background and text to customize it to my own preference.

Others who wish can easily do the same.

There's an quick and easy solution available to fix the 'problem'.

So there is no real need to complain about Loveland's choice as create-a-forum offers just a few choices.

The members have spoken and Loveland was chosen as 'Style Czar'.  To quote a few politicians, "Elections have consequences."

Loveland is free to change her mind to another 'style' today, tomorrow, next week, next month and/or she can wait until whenever CAF offers additional style options.

Maybe one of the members here with programming skills can modify one of the presently available styles to appease the critics.  Or even program a new one to resemble the worldcrossing look.

I'm more than open to it and I bet Loveland's is too.

for anyone willing to try, start here:

There isn't a quick and easy solution... esp since some of us don't use our PC's to access the website... my tablet doesn't allow me to use no squint... neither does my cell phone... Or my work PC...

I'm sure it works great for you.... but that doesn't mean it works great for the rest of us.

The easy and quick solution only works if you are wanting to access the website thru a very specific browser... its a wishful solution.

Create-a -forums also allows all types of color choices and allows you to build your own templates if you spend the time to do it... I don't have the css coding skills to come give the code to fix it up... I'm sure i could figure it out with enough time...

The members have not chosen... they picked between some random ass choices that were given to them... and the results tend to show they went with the tongue and cheek responses vs actual choices...

Furthermore... the orginal poll question was current (white on black) vs cubbie blue vs loveland... where the F did orangia come from... it sure as hell wasn't picked up Loveland till after she saw the website changed to that format... there was a solid 4 hours of colour changes before it got to this format...

IMHO Loveland picked this scheme after it was changed to it... and it suited her better then the white on black scheme... not as a her coming up a brand new spanking scheme on her accord (at least from what i saw happen, unless i missed something).

You should have had a poll to pick the choices that went into the poll... then it would make sense.

You might want to think about picking up a hobby, learn to play the harmonica or learn batik or something. Or maybe even something outdoors- there's birding, orienteering, geocaching. . .

I myself am heavily involved in batik, and origami too.

Thanks Metodo.  This place will take some getting used to.  I miss the spartan but malleable WX interface.

And about these colors . . .

With Loveland's approval, we're going to try this new style.  All the objectionable orange has been replaced with the black & silver, however it retains the light background for posts.

Hopefully, this is an acceptable compromise for everyone here.

If not, anyone with the computer skills to design one that resembles the old worldcrossing style, please send me the CSS codes for your new design and I'll try it out on testing board.

why is this photo interesting?  EDIT:  ok, can't like specific one.  I believe it's the 4th in the series.  The one of the march/parade.

You don't need to announce your presence in order to get the stroke of a bunch of "HI SCOOPs" and "SCOOP!!" and whatnot . . .you can launch straight into content.

I think there's a joke in there somewhere about content and all that..

There's  also an inherent joke in me commenting about content.

I want to know how you got "known spammer" though Scoop, that's seems pretty odd and arbitrary.
