Philip Morris is going after the creators of a Smoking Baby toy, though the company's reasons aren't based so much on the fact that the toy might encourage smoking in young children, but because the cigarettes resemble the Marlboro brand. I guess the lesson is that your baby can smoke, as long as the cigarettes are generic. In a letter dated April 7, Marlboro informed Toy Lounge that the tiny cigarette pack which came with the toy bears a striking resemblance to the design of the Marlboro pack (and it does). The letter also states the toy creates a bad image for Philip Morris. All I know is that I don't smoke, but I really want one of those smoking babies. Also, one that chews tobacco and solicits prostitutes would be pretty cool, too.
