Knowing Reinsy's love for Harold, its not a surprise that Harold is retained. Cant agree that he necessarily deserved to be rehired.

I hope he gets the manager's job. Then Kenny will have no one to blame for his sh1t moves. Baines might also be about the only person in the world to have the patience to deal with KW as his boss... and go through a rebuilding phase.

are you sure its the actual Baines and not the Baines statue that got retained?

Ha, can you tell the difference?

Ozzie's departure is a crap ending to a crap season.  I predicted more than once that the Sox wouldn't see .500 this year after all was said and done.

This ball club is not going to win another World Series title until KW is gone, folks.    He is an anchor on this team in the most literal sense.

We might be able to break out the champagne again in, oh, about 2027.

With Ozzie and Walker gone, I'm surprised nobody's brought out the brooms yet....

I don't understand the folks who are all happy that Ozzie is gone.

I stand firmly with Method, Fury and I think Black Sox.  I fear this is a slide into Baseball oblivion for quite awhile.

Here, this will make you throw-up.  http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/7028479/chicago-white-sox-gm-kenny-williams-says-was-willing-step-down

How on earth do we still end up saddled with KW while the media is standing room only to see Ozzie introduced in Florida.

Blecko again.

I think Ozzie had a terrible year managing.  I also grew tired of the drama.  Could well have affected team performance.  But, unless they make the right hire, you could well be right.

It's like the proverbial train wreck, Loveland.  They show up out of morbid curiosity.

"Williams said he is aware that he also might be the reason there isn't another World Series title on the South Side of Chicago since the club ended an 88-year championship drought in 2005."

Well, duhhh.

I'm definitely in the "It should have been Kenny instead" camp.   I'm not happy that Ozzie is gone, but not super-bummed either.

The guy I'm fretting about losing is Buehrle.   I don't care that's he's probably not worth $14 million, he's my favorite guy on the team and he can start IMBL anytime.

I also agree that without the right managerial hire this team could be headed into a serious decline. You need a Gardy or someone of that caliber to run this team

There was a bit of history made this season. Ladies and gentlemen, your new White Sox single season strikeout king: Adam Dunn, with 177, surpassing Dave Nicholson's 175 in 1964.

From the "Adam Dunn Sucks" Facebook page:

He actually did not "qualify" for the lowest batting average in baseball history, being that he only had 496 overall plate appearances. However, taking in consideration that even if he had another 6 plate appearances to give him 502 and went 6 for 6 (ha-ha!) that would have only raised his overall average to .171, still .008 points behind Rob Deer's .179.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dunn hits .270 and smacks 40 HRs next year.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he hits .170 again.

Think that was by design?   To have some empathy for that fat bastard?  If so, weak.

After seeing Don Cooper's two post-game pressers, I got to admit I wouldn't mind if he got Ozzie's job.   He'd be a hell of a lot more interestiung than Sandy Jr or Cindy's buddy.
