Write it off as one awful, awful year.  All we can do now is hope next year is better.

I dunno, I'm having Nick Swisher flashbacks here, which entails a buy-high, sell-low transaction and us watching in disgust as he regains his form clubbing the ball with another team.

Yet our hitting coach still has a job...

Greg Walker and Jim Hendry must have identical embarrassing photos of upper management.

...and every other hitter on the White Sox.

Yes, he's our "power hitter."

Seriously, picking up Carlos Zambrano to DH would be an improvement over Dunn.

He's currently on a 3-game hitting streak. That is a positive sign. He hasn't shown a consistent ability to hit all year, so maybe he's starting to get it figured out.

Because PK is a much better 1Bman.

I'd rather take that little hit on defense then the blackhole that has been AD in the lineup.

Eventhough Dunn is at least getting a hit or two, his power production as a 1Bman is attrocious. Were he hitting doubles or HRs then I could validate your premise, but I cant. He flat out stinks whether as a DH or as a 1Bman.

I think KW might have been a little too candid:

"I've made no secret about it," Williams said of Hahn, who's in his 11th season with the Sox. "Rick Hahn is, to me, one of the most qualified men to assume the position moving forward.

Interesting to see what is in the White Sox players' "Favorite Things" baskets (White Sox wives' basket auction).

Kudos to Gavin Floyd for the inclusion of NY Times Crossword Puzzles books, and Jesse Crain for a bottle of La Crema red and other wine-related stuff.

If Rick Hahn gets a GM job in Chicago I hope its here with the Sox.

La Crema red

Is that any good?   The wife likes the Chard, so by default, I like the Chard.

Seriously, picking up Carlos Zambrano to DH would be an improvement over Dunn.

Especially considering that the Cubs wouldbe paying that inflated salary instead of us.

The Sox are expected to bring up outfielder Dayan Viciedo and right-hander Shane Lindsay, and possibly left-hander Hector Santiago and shortstop Eduardo Escobar when rosters are expanded Sept. 1.

Does Escobar look like a realistic major league prospect?   Alexei is a fine SS for a major league team with a lot of talent, but not exactly a cornerstone piece.  He might be a decent surprise trade candidate.

Should have kept him at 2B.  He ain't no shortstop.

I think he's a fantastic shortstop... when he wants to be.

His nonchalance kills me.

His nonchalance kills me.

Which is precisely what makes him "not-a-shortstop."  It's a positiion that affords very little latitude to sacrifice the mental game for physical ability.

I think it's time to stop running the "All In" ads.

George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television": "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits".
