For anyone who is still following, is there any logic to Guillen sticking with the 6-man rotation at this point?

Humber had a great first half, but he seems to be tailing off, perhaps the innings taking their toll -- I don't think he's logged this many innings in a season, at least not in MLB.  Let him and Stewart work the 5th starter role, at least until Peavy goes on the DL.

But running six guys out there, when you still have an outside chance at the division, seems like a bit of concession.  Buehrle, Danks, Floyd and Peavy have been keeping the team in most of the games they pitch, why take the innings away from them?  So they can be rested when the Sox fall short of the playoffs?

Some say the reason why Buehrle has been pitching so well is because of the extra day of rest.

But I agree that Humber is out of magic dust.  I'd like to see Sox Brass shuffle the rotation, and occasionnally skip a start for Humber or Peavy, to make sure our three best guys (Buehrle, Danks, ???) are pitching when we play the Injuns or Tigers.

Uh oh.  There go 5 of the 7.

Isn't this his first stay on the DL?

Lucy, eh?  I vaguely recall hearing that he was a standout at Fallbrook HS in San Diego and later All Pac-10 in his junior year at Stanford University.

Lucy is back.

While attending Fallbrook Union High School in San Diego, CA, Lucy, a catcher and an infielder in baseball and a running back and a linebacker in football, was named the 2001 San Diego County Male Athlete of the Year.

Hate losing AJ when he is on a hot streak.

Lucy did a good job for us when he was called up before.

Was he really hanging out at Charlotte?  Because that sort of behavior is totally unacceptable in a professional environment.

Hey, I'm still here.

So AJ has been hurt a few days already and they just now determine it's a fracture?  What has happened to Rush Orthopedics?

Like I said in an earlier post, .500 is too much to ask of this team.

Adam Dunn currently has a .592 OPS with a .296 SLG.

Neifi Perez's worst OPSing season (minimum 300 PA's)?  .564 in 2002.  Neifi slugged .303 that year.

Yes - you read that correctly.  Adam Dunn in 2011 is being outslugged by Neifi Perez in Neifi's worst season.

This year is toast for Dunn. Write it off as one awful, awful year. All we can do now is hope next year is better.  Much better.

hahah. . .I think that whenever you mention Neifi, you're also required to mention Jose Macias from that great 2005 Cubs team. And yes, he's also being outslugged by Macias in Jose's worst full season.
