Avi G is going to be activated for the next game, if it ever stops raining.   Guessing this means bye bye Trace.

Leury G also close to coming back as well.

It better be good bye Trace. Jeesh. Yeah, been raining for weeks it seems. All day today. Back woods is very thick this year, kinda scary. Lots of rain and lots of heat.

Trayce and either Tilson or Palka will be off the 25-man roster when Leury is activated. Neither Avi or Leury were in the lineup tonight for the Knights so both of them might already be heading back to Chicago.

designating Trace will at least free up a spot on the 40.

Don't want to see either Tilson or Palka sitting on the bench, they need to be playing.

Rondon is supposedly being sent down, so that means likely Trayce is gone and that makes room for the two Garcias. Tilson and Palka should be safe.

...at least until Nicky Delmonico returns.

So who's the 26th man for today's doubleheader?  MLB rules allow teams to expand their roster to 26 on days they play two games.  see: https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/26th_Man_Rule

Nothing is listed on the White Sox website or twitter account. Could have kept Jose Rondon active for one more day as insurance in case there is an injury in one of today's games. A's active roster only shows 25 players too.  ????

After a terrific May, José Abreu has had an awful June. A hitting line of .211/.250/.367 and a OPS of .617.

Is he hurt or just in a long slump?

Word around the campfire is that Bruce Rondon will be DFA'd today and Jeanmar Gomez is getting the call up.

Bruce Rodon has been horrific lately.

Hamilton has pitched well enough for a call up, but it would be stupid to throw away service time.

Thinking of options:

Fulmer drafted in 15.

Sox blew an option in 16 when they brought him up for a very short time during year.

Sox blew an option in 17 when they sent him down at beginning of year.

Sox used an option in 18 when they sent him down - this would have been the first used option on a team with brains in the front office.

Usually a team only has 3 player options. I believe there's an exception that idiot teams can use = if a player doesn't have 5 yrs under his belt, majors &  minors, the team gets a 4th option.

Right?

correct.

see: http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/minor-league-options

Quote

If a player misses an entire option year due to injury or expends his third option year before he has completed five professional seasons (Major Leagues and Minor Leagues included), he can receive a fourth option year.

So, who gets called up to fill the spot in the Bullpen?

I guess Hamilton.

VIEIRA SUCKS!

No, really he blows. He's been God Awful at Charlotte, they're simply mesmerized by his velocity.

I agree. I am not a fan thus far.
