ready to call up Rodon. Don't see the point in pitching at Charlotte instead of Chicago.

We need to send down Giolito, ERA is like 7.56. sending him out every 5th day is a form of punishment at this point.

he's still only 23. Let Covey pitch in the rotation for a while. See what he can do, he can't be worse than Gio.

Santiago needs to go. At least Giolito might be learning on the job. Kopech needs to be up. Not much left for him to learn in AAA.

Santiago needs to be in the pen, where he's been more effective.

The most effective starter at AAA has been Stephens.

Gio shouldn't be on the 25.

After tonight's game, Aaron Bummer was sent to Triple-A Charlotte Knights making room on the 25-man roster for Carlos Rodon.

Positive injury news

• Alec Hansen, the White Sox No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make his first 2018 start with Double-A Birmingham this weekend. The Minor League strikeout leader in '17 has been working his way back from forearm soreness, which began in Spring Training.

• Outfielder Avisail Garcia, out of action since April 23 with a right hamstring strain, will begin a rehab assignment with Charlotte on Tuesday. He's going to need at least one week to 10 days of regular action to get his timing back.

The Micker to start a throwing program which may allow him to avoid surgery.

Nate Jones placed on the 10-day DL.   And the Sox call up...

Not Jeanmar.   Minaya instead.

Makes sense as Jeanmar Gómez is not on the 40-man roster which is full and Juan Minaya was already on the 40-man.  Besides their short term goal is not to win but to get the overall number one pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.

It is going to take a lot of effort to suck more then Baltimore. Not sure we want that.

Jeanmar could be a flip candidate.   Need to showcase him at some point.  What's the point of having a 30 year old in AAA?

I don't think getting the #1 pick next year would be a good thing, because that could mean that the young guys already up here suck.   It would be better to have the young 'uns show promise and get the number 8 pick.

We will not get anything for Jeanmar.

transaction page at Sox web site says Gregory Infante outrighted. This should clear a space on the 40.

Bring Gomez up & send Minaya down?

Definitely. Might not bring much but could help some team. I now think they should move Abreu

Avi G is going to be activated for the next game, if it ever stops raining.   Guessing this means bye bye Trace.

Leury G also close to coming back as well.
