Love the glove.  It never ever works sacrificing defense for meaningless offensive numbers. He deserves every opportunity to show what he can do.

Like to see him get a steady .240-.260 ability with some power, speed and as you say very good defense.

I like our depth behind him. Cordell looked good this spring. I still think Polo will see time at some point. Maybe in September. Maybe sooner if injuries hit.

To play devil's advocate... Brian Anderson, anyone?

Avi Garcia placed on the 10-day DL (hammy); Palka called up.

I have always liked Palka, since his Ga Tech days. Lets hope he stays hot.

Another roster move must be in the works.  Making early room on the 40-man for Kopech?

Fry up, Minaya down

Would have been so much better if it could have been Burger and Fry up, Minaya and blah down.

Moncada to DL with left hamstring tightness
Second baseman not expected to miss more than 10 days; Rondon recalled;
Avisail Garcia takes BP

Jose Rondon is an interesting case. 24, he was sold to us by the Padres in the off-season & I can't figure out why. Maybe they felt guity about raping us the the James Shields trade.

Played 1 yr in the DSL & then has been in the American minors since 2012. Career .290 BA, 340 OBP. Fielding seems OK.

only odd thing in the numbers is he's only played in 589 minor league games in over 7 years.

Maybe the Padres thought they were unloading an injury prone player.

Anywho I'd keep him, move Leury to center as a regular & Rondon is the utility inf.
