Never did like that signing. Thought it was a Teahen deal, this is just confirmation.

Heh.

http://sox.createaforum.com/general-discussion/trades-and-rumors-24/msg17873/#msg17873

Unnamed sources out of the state of Iowa claim ISF is scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews in Alabama for possible TJ surgery.

ISF injured his arm patting himself on the back for his correct prediction of Keppinger's failure with the White Sox.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/05/al-notes-keppinger-zobrist-singleton-devries.html

Earlier today, the White Sox made the tough decision to designate infielder Jeff Keppinger for assignment, despite the fact that his contract calls for a $4MM salary in 2014 and a $4.5MM salary in 2015. GM Rick Hahn spoke to reporters about the move about the decision: “We are focusing on the future as opposed to trying to justify a decision from the past. … [Keppinger's signing] didn’t work. That’s on me.”

Nice to see that Hahn isn't afraid to cut bait on a bad contract, or take responsibility for it. Bodes well for the future.

De Aza can be DFA'd as far as I am concerned.   Might as well see if either Jordan Danks or that schmoe they picked up has anything.   De Aza adds nothing, and has no future with this team.  Danks and Sierra probably don;t either, but might as well give them One Last Shot.

Really? De Aza has had two ok years with the bat. Gotta think he is better than those other two. Danks has a long swing. Sierra will never walk and makes mental mistakes galore.

We have Eaton and the worst outfield ever.

Put Leury Garcia out there.

You forgot to add Dennis Higgins, Paul Edmondson, Brandon McCarthy, Daniel Hudson, Scott Nielsen, Jeff Carter, Floyd Weaver, Jason Grilli, Dick Tidrow, Fred Howard, Larry Monroe, Verle Tiefenthaler and Cy Acosta.

This is cool. The best all-time choice for each of the first 15 rounds for the Sox.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/cws/white-sox-have-benefited-from-casting-wide-draft-net?ymd=20140529&content_id=77342514&vkey=news_cws

What no mention of the Sox 43rd round pick of the 1993 draft?

Carey Schueler, daughter of then GM Ron Schueler, chosen by the White Sox with the 1208th overall pick.  That was 61 spots ahead of Bobby Howry, 95 spots ahead of Dave Roberts and 149 spots ahead of Plácido Polanco.

"reminds you of a young Kenny Williams"

.........are the 7 words I don't want to hear as a description of a White Sox draftee next week.

Check that, those 7 words I NEVER want to hear about a White Sox draftee for at least a decade.

Agree 100%, we have too many like him now. Walker, Thompson, Hawkins, Anderson. They all K way too much although they are athletes. I want baseball players, not guys who would be good at football or basketball.

We've had an obsession with 2 sport stars as draftees for a long long time now... perhaps we get lucky and KW moves onto new ventures in life and we can get a new philosophy on hitters to draft.

You left out my favorite 1st round pick in recent years... Jared Mitchell
