waive Pierre, waive Pena.
Send Beckham down and let Omar/Lilli lead off and play 2nd.  Consider that a temporary move: with more plate appearances, those two and Castro will come back to the mean.
EDIT:  let Castro play a lot more.  Let AJ sit and stew.
I'd keep Morel up for now: he should get a chance to battle back at the plate.  But I'd keep looking for available 3rd basemen.
Bring up Viciedo and let him and Teahen and Lilli share time in left.  Keep looking for a decent bat to bring in to play left.

The injuns' schedule has actually been very favorable:  they beat up on Mariners, Royals, bad Red Sox, Orioles but were pretty average against White Sox, Angels.  Now they face Red Sox, Reds, Angels and A's on the road, Tampa.  If the Sox get to about 24-30 by end of May, the Indians should be closer to 30-24.   If that doesn't happen, fire Greg Walker.

7-deuce offsuit

Blacksox was excellent in that band. Townes Van Zandt tribute if I recall. They were going places. But then this dude threatened a lawsuit even those he's some guy in a basement somewhere, and they wimped out.

What nickname best suits Adam Dunn at the moment?

Nora
Gertrude
Holly
Emma

Gertrude is the obvious choice, but my vote is for Emma.

I was thinking "Get the F*ck out and then you're", but that only makes sense if one is familiar with the last track on "The Chronic".

"Nora"?   Oooh, that's low.   Horrible SNL cast member.

Jeter -- nice find... is that for real?

I guess that is for real.   Think I like "Beat #2" the best.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be Sox Mis-management?

A guy I worked with many, many years ago coined the phrase manglement when referring to the management of a under-performing company.

So we'll use his term in the topic's title until this team's record approaches within a few games of .500.

Phil Humber  - The third overall pick in the 2004 draft, Humber had not come close to putting it together in the majors until last year. Now a starter for the first time in his MLB career, Humber is pitching for his fifth organization in as many years. So far, the results have been tremendous. He has a 3.06 ERA through five starts with a 21K/8BB ratio. Opponents have been unlucky against Humber on balls in play, and only 5% of their fly balls have left the yard, so that 3.06 ERA may climb closer to 4.00. Still, Humber looks like one of the shrewdest waiver claims of the winter.

Nope.   This is still a 90-win club.  There will be no room for you loosers on the bandwagon come the AS break...

You tell 'em, chief.  I've already called shotgun, so the rest of you squeeze into the back.

4n, since you called shotgun, your job as co-pilot is to run the tunes  and spot the cops.  We're all counting on you.

This team has a better chance at 100 losses than it does 90 wins

You have a problem with Cowley's correctness?

He made it seem like it couldn’t get any lower.

On Tuesday night, it did. Lower by about 6 feet after Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano — he of the 9.13 ERA heading into the series against the Sox — no-hit the hapless South Siders in their own backyard 1-0. A hammer, a few nails, some dirt on top and a headstone. Rest in peace, you $125 million pile of dung

Pretty accurate, for the most part.

The only chance we really have is if these players somehow "snap out of it" and elevate their level of play.

But I don't see that happening.  If it was only a couple of players dragging us down, that would be one thing... but nearly the entire team is playing like s h i t.

Not at all.   Not sure why you inferred that.

Time for some Juan Pierre Fun Facts, courtesy of Unky Phil:

Liriano's three-walk game of Juan Pierre is interesting. It's only the sixth three-walk game of Pierre's career, but the second in the last three days.  He's had only 33 multi-walk games in his 11-year career.

Given his defense, and baserunning this year, he's going to need to walk to about a .390 OBP to be valuable.
