JJ

With the recent style change to a vegas gold & black scheme, are you going to stick with the orange effect avatar?

We'll have to get a ruling from our fashion police if the orange effect clashes with the new setup.

So is this where I say that Greg Walker doesn't seem to be pulling his weight?

But Quentin and Paulie are hitting pretty well.  So you have to fire Walker from working with all the players who are not--it's clearly his fault that Rios and Beckham and Morel suck--but don't fire him from working with Quentin and Paulie.   In fact, you have to give him a raise for his Quentin work this year.

I hear what you are saying, but I cannot credit Walker for Quentin or Kong, they are just pure professional hitters. Not sure they would even need a hittingl coach. I was thinking about saying exactly what Joseph brought up, but not sure it would help the team. We need to do something to break up this status quo however.

I thought I read a quote from Paulie once before where he credited Walker for helping him get out of one of his slumps. And Quentin obviously needed some help too.

Maybe Coop should try using this with the bullpen staff:

I just don't think any hitting coach does all that much.  It's not like an offensive coordinator in football.

Sergio Santos – It’s now back to back saves but this last 2 out save should go to Brent Lillibridge who made two outstanding plays in RF.  Lillibridge fields like he’s nailing Sergio Santos’ sister.  Juan Pierre fields like Thornton is nailing Juan’s sister.

OK, after examining it and thinking about it, I have to ask: BlackSox, what is avatar? I'm thinking that guy is in an army uniform but can't be sure.

Gah, I THOUGHT it might be Stripes. I should have guessed it here. Even did a search > black guy stripes movie - and got some interesting results, but not what I was looking for.

Accidentally caught part of the postgame for a recent game, and the guy who's not Bill Melton said something like "when you're going extremely well, you're never that good, and when you're going bad, you're never that bad either", point being that the Sox are a better team than what we've been seeing.

The thing about that is, even "better than they are currently" might only get them to a less severe level of suck. Is "better" .500? Meh.

I'd say the Sox are historically bad, so might as well enjoy it.  "Histerically" bad?

This is why I hate when this team actually has high expectations. It seems that's when we're let down the most. Remember the "It's Time" campaign? Didn't they have all those public signs removed because the team was so bad to start that year that that slogan was embarrassing?

Send Morel down, yes.

But maybe not stop there -- send Beckham down too, let him get his swing and confidence back.  How is Lillibridge at 2B?  I seem to recall that IF is his original position -- maybe plug him in at 2B and put Vizquel at 3B and, dare I say, let Teahen spell him on occasion.  At least shore up the defense so that the starting pitching, which hasn't been all that bad, might win them a few 2-1, 3-2 squeakers until the offense wakes up (and the offense WILL wake up -- hopefully before the Sox have buried themselves further in the standings).

Regardless, some kind of shake-up is in order here....

When I look at Brent Morel, I think "Joe Borchard".  Someone explain this phenomenon. Actually, don't.

George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television": "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits".
