This Date In White Sox History - June 23rd

Five years ago today . . .

June 23, 2006 - White Sox starter Jose Contreras establishes a franchise mark, surpassing LaMarr Hoyt and Wilson Alvarez, by winning his 16th consecutive decision as Chicago beat the Astros 7-4 in a match up of last year's World Series rivals. The Cuban right-hander, whose last defeat occurred on August 15 last season against the Twins, hasn't been beaten in his past 21 regular season starts. White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik had two hits including his second homer of the season and drove in four runs in the game.
