Today In White Sox History - October 7th
October 7, 2005 -
In Game 3 of the ALDS played at Fenway Park, the White Sox complete the three-game sweep of the defending World Series champion by beating the Red Sox, 5-3. In the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded and no out in a 4-3 game, Orlando Hernandez came on in relief and retired the next three hitters on two infield popouts and a strikeout. It is the first time since 1917 the Pale Hose have won a post-season series.
