Nice old photo of a Red Sox & White Sox game at Comiskey Park on August 23, 1957

That's Billy Pierce making the between innings warmup pitches to catcher Sherm Lollar while Ted Williams is studying  Bill's pitches in the top of the 6th inning.  Ted's 'timing' antics didn't work this time as Billy struck him out and went on to pick up another complete game and his 17th win of the season as the White Sox beat the Red Sox 4 - 1 before 24,178 on a Friday night.

Box+PBP of this game: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1957/B08230CHA1957.htm

Note: This was three seasons before Bill Veeck turned the old scoreboard into an 'exploding' one.
