Illini force IU into 24 turnovers, and win despite not shooting well and getting pounded on the boards. Tom Crean has to be the creepiest coach I have ever watched. Frigging tranny.

He is creepy looking.

I only caught the end of the game, but it looked like Egwu is becoming a decent player, finally.   Small sample size, but.....

Talking to my bro who is 16 years older than I. Has had Illini season tix for years and years. He got to the point where about 4-5 years ago he gave them up due to Weber. He said he had been watching Illini hoops for almost 70 years and 1 thing he could expect was that the Illini would play harder than the other team. Never failed. But under Weber he thought the Illini were pussies, did not play hard, did not listen to the coach. He hated Weber for that.

Well, those days are gone. We once again play harder than the other team. Nice to see.

Cavs Acquire Luol Deng from Bulls

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired All-Star forward Luol Deng from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for center Andrew Bynum, three future draft picks and the right to swap 2015 first round picks with the Cavs (1-14 protected), Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced tonight from Cleveland Clinic Courts.

"We are very excited for Luol to join the Cavaliers organization, " said Grant. "We have worked to acquire and maintain flexibility in order to capitalize on opportunities such as this. Luol reflects all that we are striving for in building our team. He’s a tremendous defensive player that can impact the game on both ends of the court with a team first mentality and is a high character leader.”

In exchange for Deng, the Cavs send Chicago Bynum, Cleveland’s right to the Sacramento King’s first round draft pick conveyed in a June 30, 2011 deal, the right for Chicago to swap its own 2015 first round draft pick with the Cavs own 2015 first round draft pick (only in the case that the Cleveland 2015 first round draft pick is between 15 and 30) and the Portland Trail Blazer’s 2015 and 2016 second round draft picks acquired from the Trail Blazers via 2013 draft night trade.

Deng has been an NBA All-Star in each of the past two seasons (2012 and 2013) and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2012. He also received the NBA Sportsmanship Award in 2007 and All-Rookie First Team honors in 2005.

This season, Deng appeared in 23 games (all starts) for Chicago, averaging a career-best 19.0 points on .452 shooting, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steal in 37.4 minutes per game. The 6-9, 220-pound forward has scored at least 20 points 10 times this season, including a stretch of six straight 20-point games from Nov. 24 to Dec. 5.

Deng was originally drafted by Phoenix in the 2004 NBA Draft as the No. 7 overall selection. He has spent his entire nine-year career with the Bulls and owns career averages of 16.1 points on .460 shooting, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal in 35.9 minutes over 637 games (591 starts). He has also played in 48 playoff games (42 starts) with averages of 16.7 points on .452 shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 40.3 minutes per game.

The Blackhawks have the 7th best record in the league.    They play the team with the 4th best record in the first round of the playoffs, and potentially would have to beat the teams with the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st best records to win the cup.

That there's a tough road.

Why yes I do, thank you. Heh

Was in Chicago for the Warren Haynes and Boston Philharmonic Orchestra doing Jerry Garcia. Nice gig. Pretty big orchestra, I expected only 20 or so, hell, they even had xylophone and a harp. I have most of the Dead music and a lot of Jerry's solo stuff, but I still did not know quite a few of the songs.

Only bad part of trip was when show was over the skies opened up. Got soaked fighting other jags over taxis. Hotels were booked so we were on other side of the river at the IVY. Oh, the Amtrak too. Might have to stop taking the train. 4 hours late getting into Chicago Monday night. The oil boom in North Dakota has so many freight trains hauling oil tankers and there is not enough track. They are building more tracks but will be bad throughout the summer unfortunately. Going home was not bad, since I get off well before North Dakota (well if you put it that way I get off before I am even to Glenview).

A buddy of mine went to that show.  he had extras but I couldn't make it.   I guess Warren Haynes played one of Jerry's guitars at that show (on loan from the Pritzker family).

The "Wolf" guitar. I heard a Chicago family that won it in an auction loaned it to him for the concert. Someone called Warren the hardest working man in the music business. Hard to not believe that.

Anyone have good tips on Bears game parking?   Where are the good/secret spots, and when does one need to get there?

Well Jesus H, I can hardly believe my eyes. The Illini won a Big 10 Football game and beat the division leading Gophers while doing so. I might have bet my house against that happening.
