From the Grantland article that ISF posted:

Garcia (Avisail)may be injured this season, but he’s only 22, and he looked fantastic before hurting his shoulder.

He did? Guess I missed that. He looked okay offensively a few times but fantastic is a pretty strong word. Not sure I agree with that. But hey, I like finally reading some positives articles about the Sox so all's good!  ;D

Here's a fun read about the Sox taking Chris Sale in the 2010 draft when several other teams passed on him:

Hawk Harrelson talked to the goofy Chris "Mad Dog" Russo on his MLB Network TV show:

Well.. that one is pretty good.. lol. he is flat mashing at AAA...

Grade Dolor has far out stripped my expectations... i dont think any of us expected what he's done over the last 6 weeks...

Abreu is mashing in MLB. We have yet to see Kris Bryant do that.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bryant is going to be a star but Andy's point is that he has not played one major league game yet and you will find Cub fans who would say he's better than Abreu.

Baez went 0-5 with 3 K's but he hit 1 home run so I'm sure they think he's better than Abreu already too.

Jose Abreu hitting the rookie wall: 'It's too much'

Jorge L. Ortiz, USA TODAY Sports 11:23 a.m. EDT August 16, 2014

As he continues assimilating into his new country during a spectacularly successful rookie season, Jose Abreu is starting to get familiarized with a term used in American sports parlance – hitting the wall.

The Chicago White Sox first baseman, so used to hitting balls over walls, seems to be running smack into a figurative one.

Abreu entered the weekend tied for the major league lead in home runs (31) and RBI (86), but he hasn't homered since July 29, has driven in just three runs in August and acknowledged the wear of the major league season has taken a toll.

Chris Sale is a finalist for the A.L. Cy Young Award and Jose Abreu is a finalist for the A.L. Rookie-of-the-Year Award:

on not much a fan of graphs, so i don't put much stock in this:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-white-sox-still-arent-a-very-good-team/

we won 73 games last year.  apparently, everybody regresses and all the new guys don't add up to more than a few wins.  bookmarking that one.
