its a work in progress.. it looks a lot like the slider, as he pointed out they are very very similar.

Good thing here is his recently found ability to find the strike zone with all his pitches.

The test is going to be when MLB hitters adjust to the fast ball. When they go up there first pitch swinging expecting a FB and get it. or expect FB up in the count and get it.  We'll have to wait and see if the recent found maturity starts to compensate for those adjustments or if he breaks down completely.

Eno Sarris recently wrote that moncada is becoming more selective... even though the results dont show it. I hope he's right... i just see a guy thats up there guessing breaking ball and not swinging. pitch him low and out side siders/cb's in the zone, he never hits them and always swings.

He's def gotten better at not swinging at things completely out side the zone...
