I recall the Armour Square Park proposal, but this piece has an incredible amount of detail.   It's a long read, but well worth it.

Not a fan of the "square" outfield dimensions, but the rest of the design is cool.   And great points at the end by the writer.

I know ISF posted this in the History thread, but I am posting it here in case some of you missed it.

Thanks Blackie. Interesting but laden with mistakes. Park capacity is about 36k, not 44k. The renovations were paid by US Cellular, no? And while the Bess design would have been great, the idea that retail would have flourished there is absurd

Former White Sox infielder Sammy Esposito died on Monday at age 81. Esposito played nine seasons with the Sox (1952, '55-62) and was a part of their 1959 team that won the American League pennant. He appeared in two World Series games vs. the Dodgers. Following his playing career, Esposito served as the head baseball coach at North Carolina State University from 1967-87.

its a work in progress.. it looks a lot like the slider, as he pointed out they are very very similar.

Good thing here is his recently found ability to find the strike zone with all his pitches.

The test is going to be when MLB hitters adjust to the fast ball. When they go up there first pitch swinging expecting a FB and get it. or expect FB up in the count and get it.  We'll have to wait and see if the recent found maturity starts to compensate for those adjustments or if he breaks down completely.

Eno Sarris recently wrote that moncada is becoming more selective... even though the results dont show it. I hope he's right... i just see a guy thats up there guessing breaking ball and not swinging. pitch him low and out side siders/cb's in the zone, he never hits them and always swings.

He's def gotten better at not swinging at things completely out side the zone...
