Robert only hit .297 at Charlotte, Madrigal .331.

Robert didn't hit as well as Eloy at AAA.

Eloy had a helluva lot more total pro at bats. Not even close. I like em both. Robert had a 30/30 in his first full season in the minors. Pretty amazing.

Robert slumped last couple weeks. Might be a bit worn down..,three teams, three cities, three apts in 3 months. He may have also been trying to do too much to get promoted. Robert hitting .290 is like Madrigal hitting .450

O don't get me wrong. I love Robert as a prospect. But as Min says, this is his first full season in the minors. Yes, Eloy had much more minor league experience. Robert needs that experience.

These are all arguments demonstrating why those clamoring for Roberts to be called up are dopes.

...if he signs an "Eloy-type contract" during Spring Training.  Otherwise he'll start the season in Charlotte and we'll see him in Chicago in early May.

This a surprise as I expected him to be Ricky's replacement within the next 24 months:

2019 Rule 5 Draft results: Pick by pick

-----------

The White Sox pick a Yankees RHP prospect in the Triple-A portion and don't surrender a player in the draft. So you Alec Hansen fans can relax.

Just saw Andrew Vaughn on TV; he looks like a 40 year old mid-level business executive.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28661018/white-sox-reach-deal-cuban-rhp-norge-carlos-vera

Cuban right-hander Norge Carlos Vera and the Chicago White Sox are in agreement on a deal for a $1.5 million signing bonus that the sides expect to make official when the new international signing period opens July 2.  Vera, 18, pitched for Cuba's national team in June against the New Jersey Jackals of the independent Can-Am League and defected after that start.  Scouts have compared Vera's ability to that of a high-school pitcher that would go in the draft's second round, commensurate with the bonus the White Sox are set to give him. He's a projectable 6-foot-4 whose fastball sits in the low-90s and has been up to 97, with a slider and changeup that helps his profile as a potential third or fourth starter.

He was expected to sign for quite a bit more, but his Velo in the showcase was down.
