Yeah, I think we'll be able to use him again with the big club not too far off in the future.

Probably plenty that can do the job better than these guys are. However, I think Ozzie is a lot of the blame. Everything he is touching right now is going to hell. He needs to settle on a rotation of these pen guys, he must think he is LaRussa or something.

Charlotte lost 5-2, Peavy went 6 innings, 8 hits, 0 walks, 2 ER, 4 Ks. He allowed a homer. He threw 72 pitches, 55 of them strikes. I would say he is ready. Harrell gave up 3 in relief. 2 hits for Gallagher including a homer. Danks had 3 hits. No one else got a hit.

Birmingham lost 6-2, Axelrod started.

http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=t247&t=g_box&gid=2011_04_13_cngaax_biraax_1

Winston-Salem, Game #1,  won 3-2 in 10 innings, Serafin started and gave up 2 runs over 4.  The pen then shut them out for 6 innings.  Taylor Thompson got the save. Mitchell was 1-3 with a HBP. After the HBP Gac hit a 2-run homer.

Winston-Salem, Game #2, lost 3-2, Doyle took the loss despite a CG outing. Mitchell a walk and a K.

Kannapolis won 8-3, Buch with 6 real nice innings. Trayce Thompson had a 2 run homer, his 2nd on the year. Seems to be hitting, but he is at .185. 2 perfect innings for Addison Reed.

Charlotte down 2-1 in the 7th, Peavy went 6 innings, 8 hits, 0 walks, 2 ER, 4 Ks. He allowed a homer. He threw 72 pitches, 55 of them strikes.

"Stuff" and command-wise, I'd agree.

The only reason he's down there at this point is to build up stamina.

I'm guessing if we see Humber lit up tomorrow, we'll see Peavy sooner rather than later.

Charlotte lost 3-1, Marquez was wild but still did ok. Bruney pitched a good inning. Get him up here and release Pena. Or send down the guy we have not used yet. Jeesh.

Birmingham lost 2-0, Zaleski went a strong 7 innings. Kuhn had 4 hits. Plenty of baserunners.

http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=t247&t=g_box&gid=2011_04_14_cngaax_biraax_1

Winston-Salem had the day off

Kannapolis won 9-5, Upchurch started and went 3, they need to stretch him out, he has been relieving for some odd reason. Chase Cooney went the middle 3 and got the win. Not sure I want a guy named Chase on my team. Miguel "Mickey" Negron did not fare so well as a pitcher in his 2nd outing. Silverio and Schumaker stay hot, Thompson was 1-4 with a walk.

Kuhn seems like a hitting machine. What is his upside? And where do you play him if he made it to the big club?

not much upside, no gap power. Not sure how good his D is either, he plays 2B/OF/DH.

I think he is fodder, but good fodder

Charlotte in a delay

http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=t494&t=g_box&gid=2011_04_15_chraaa_gwiaaa_1

Birmingham postponed

Winston-Salem came back and won 5-3, decent start for Rienzo. Nice pen work.

Kannapolis won 5-3, Petricka dominant in his 5 innings. Looks like Evenson, the SS, got HBP and left game. That will hurt. 3 hits for PG Blanke, the catcher. He had 2 doubles and a triple.

Its early but Mitchell looks like a bust

Mitchell is playing for less than three weeks after being out for a whole year.

It's way too early to judge him a bust.
