At least Rios is starting to show life.

"Mourning" Phil says Rios has been nursing a bad big toe.  If true, me no happy that he's been trying to play through it.

Given the dearth of talent in our farm system, we really should think about claiming this guy:

In a Winston-Salem win today, Jared Mitchell was 0-5 with 5 Ks. Now that is a prospect!!!

Our OF of the future, Mitchell was 0-5 with 5 Ks, Thompson 0-4 with 4 Ks and Danks, who used to K more than either one, but they are even worse than he was. What an org I tell ya, what a franchise. May as well get contracted from the league, we will never be able to compete.

**Another outfield prospect who missed all of 2010 is White Sox '09 first-rounder Jared Mitchell. Unlike Pollock, Mitchell is seriously struggling this year, hitting just .205/.250/.385 in 117 at-bats for High-A Winston-Salem, with a horrible 6/46 BB/K. He was always raw for a college guy and while he always struck out a lot, he also drew walks at LSU and in Low-A. That has completely left him this year. He's also stolen just three bases in six attempts, and while the word is he hasn't lost the speed he had before his horrible ankle injury last spring, it sure isn't showing up in the numbers. He's in a very deep slump currently, 6-for-40 (.150) in his last 10 games, with 20 strikeouts.

He did have a year off... not going to call him a bust till we see what he does the rest of the year... but its not good to see him struggling quite this much... esp when guys like pollock seem to be pushing the rust off a lot faster.

If he ends the season on a 6-40 with 20Ks streak hes a bust for sure.

Sox minor leaguers have been playing well since I quit posting their boxscores. So I am not going to jinx them. I would like to see the following under the links topic however, if Andy sees this. Can you link this rather than the link you have for posting minor league scores, or in addition to. Thanks

remember this guy, also in the Swisher trade to the A's besides Gonzalez and Sweeney, in fact this kid was the one that was rated our top prospect

Post-Tommy John surgery Fautino de los Santos thrived after moving to the bullpen last season. The 25-year-old earned his promotion by striking out 14.5 batters per nine innings for Double-A Midland this season.

• Jared Mitchell, cf, White Sox. Mitchell hasn't been able to catch up to Carolina League pitching yet after missing the 2010 season with a torn tendon in his left ankle. The 22-year-old is hitting just .202/.243/.372 through 129 at-bats with high Class A Winston-Salem and has had severe problems making contact. Mitchell has struck out 50 times, tied for the most in the minors, while drawing just six walks in 137 plate appearances. He's also struck out at least once in 20 consecutive games. Mitchell struck out 13 times this week while hitting .160/.160/.320 (4-for-25) with one home run and one double.

When is Remenowsky going to get a shot?  Sick numbers at Birm.

Also, Dayan hot, and Danks quietly having a very good season.  Flowers has bounced back well too.

Teahen has a strained oblique... its worse then he originally let on... he should be on the DL retroactively by Tuesday as Andy mentioned above.

Org now +9, nice week. We were down to +1 the  last time I checked and were sinking fast, so I quit putting up the boxscores. We had a nice week, in fact Sunday we went 4-0.

Charlotte is on a roll and now only 2 under .500, Birmingham is 4 over, W-S is 2 under and Kanny is 9 over and in first place.

Charlotte had real nice weeks from Danks and Viciedo. Their pitching seems to be coming around too, Harrell had a nice start, Marquez has been good and the pen has been solid all year.

Birmingham just makes me scratch my head, KWJr is the weak link in the lineup, yet they continue to lead him off. The fastest guy in the org, Greene, is hitting almost .300 and really hot of late. Marrero having a good season and Kuhn is staying over .300. Infante was untouchable for them, he just went to Charlotte, but Remenowsky has been superb. Starting rotation has been good except for Nevin Griffith, might be time to release him.

At Winston-Salem Mitchell is struggling, but he had a big 2-run homer in the 9th the other night to push a game into extra innings that W-S won. He just needs to start improving, I still think he has a chance. The guy had a great eye in college, you just do not lose that. Saladino just got off DL and is going to be a good SS, Wilkins is doing well after skipping Low A ball. Martinez has been real hot this year after 2 years of injuries and barely any playtime. Their rotation is good, all 5 doing well. Addison Reed and Taylor Thompson solidify the pen.

Kannapolis is the real surprise. Trayce Thompson is the biggest story, not hitting great yet, but he is hitting with some power and not striking out at an alarming rate thus far. Shoemaker having a solid year as is Silverio at 3B and Russ Wilson at 2B. Drew Lee is hitting a ton and playing 2B a lot too. Blanke is probably our best C option in the minors. Pitching has been good, now that Moran is back in closer role rather than starting. Heidenreich and Buch are doing quite well.

That would take thought however, and no, he has played RF all week. Maybe he will play RF and the other jamokes can have Quentin back in LF.

White Sox vice chairman Einhorn will be joined by Daryl Boston as the club's representatives for this year's Draft. Boston, who currently is working in his 11th year as the organization's Minor League outfield instructor, was the inaugural White Sox top pick under the current ownership regime. Boston was taken with the seventh pick overall in 1981, and reached the Majors in 1984 with the White Sox.

Draft Central

The White Sox do not have a first-round pick this year, with their 23rd selection overall going to the Washington Nationals as a result of the free-agent signing of designated hitter Adam Dunn. But when the White Sox make their first pick at No. 47, in compensation round A for Arizona's signing of closer J.J. Putz, Einhorn and Boston will be introduced and make the announcement of this particular selection.

Live coverage of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft begins with a one-hour preview show on Monday, June 6, at 5 p.m. CT on MLB.com and MLB Network, followed by the first round and supplemental compensation round. MLB.com will provide exclusive coverage of Day 2 and 3, featuring a live pick-by-pick stream, expert commentary and Draft Tracker, a live interactive application that includes a searchable database of every Draft-eligible player.

You can also keep up to date at Draft Central and by following @MLBDraft on Twitter. And get into the Draft conversation by tagging your tweets with #mlbdraft.

Reps for other teams also have a White Sox connection. Roland Hemond will be there for Arizona, Ralph Garr for the Braves, Roberto Hernandez for the Rays and Roberto Alomar for the Blue Jays.
