I hope he's well enough to live out the rest of his days unencumbered by his condition.

That said, I hope he doesn't come back to the Sox dugout.

I recommend watching Last Comiskey on YouTube.  It's mostly about the 1990 season.  Parts 1 & 2 are out; part 3 drops later this week.

That 1990 team was one of my favorites.  And the videos of Old Comiskey bring back a lot of memories.

"That 1990 team was one of my favorites"

Mine also.  That was before the internet took off and so it was challenging to follow a team from a far.  They had really sucked from 1986-1989 and I had sort of lost interest (They were so bad that I recall an episode of Married... with Children from around 1989 in which Peggy threatens Al cause she's mad about something and he responds with "What, are you going to make me watch a White Sox game" or something like that).  Anyway, the 90 season starts and early on the Sox are featured on more than the usual share of games televised by ESPN.  Should have been the clue that the "experts" knew they would be good.

Think I like that team because to me they came out of nowhere and they had allot of young, hungry guys and not allot of spoiled egos.

And, no, I didn't watch Married... with Children all the time.  Was channel surfing and happened to hit on it when the "joke" played. ;D

You should have watched MWC all the time... a damn funny show.

If'n you watch the 1990 Doc, try to pay attention to the wallpaper behind the Zoom shots of Scott Radinsky... that guy still rules.  Probably my Third Favorite White Sox Ever (behind Buehrle & McDowell).

Will we really miss Benetti?    I dunno.  He was gone a whole lot. I think that was part of the issue. Was he good enough to warrant how often he was gone?

Hahaha!  I thought you meant Benintendi to the Tigers.  So I did a quick Google search to find what the Sox got for him and couldn't find an article.  Then realized my mistake.

I didn't watch them on TV much last year but when I did found Benneti entertaining in a wacky sort of way.

My biggest fear is that they'll have Len Kasper take over the TV duties.  That guy sucks, especially with his fake enthusiasm when something good happened to the Sox

Losing Benetti sucks for BlackSox.  I think he's unique, entertaining, and fun. He made the bad games somewhat watchable. Should have been the next Hawk - the voice of the White Sox for decades. Now we are going to have some bland-ass voice like Andy Masur.

Kind of like the Blackhawks.  Foley was the voice of the team, and he and Edzo were a top tier random.  Now watching a Hawks game is so bland and not nearly as fun.

He was fun but never here.  Benetti couldn’t decide what he wanted to be.
