Twins and Indians just signed very high profile kids from Latin America. I think the Indians OF was from Venezuela. Our org just keeps slipping further and further behind.

That SS from California that we took with in the 5th round or so, Marcus Semien, he is good. Hitting well out of the shute, although he has made 3 errors. But he is contributing right away at Low A ball with Kannapolis. Maybe our worst Great Falls team in a long time, Bristol is so-so.

Glad to see Dan Black contributing at Kanny too, he had not done much since we drafted him out of Purdue. He and Shoemaker having solid years at Kanny.

The URL says Boston, the story says Houston.   So the curtains don't match the drapes, as it were.   But there you have it.

Mitchell finally starting to get it I think, still Ks a lot but his last 10 games

OBP .465   Slg .714   OPS 1.179

Now hitting .235 for the season, does not sound that great but this guy was down in the .170s not long ago. 2 more hits tonight too, both doubles. Showing extra base power and also seems to get big hits, several game winners.

Give him a week or so and he will drop back down. We'll just send Walker down to visit him.

You might be right, but regardless, maybe you should change your name to something less wishfull.

Sounds like he's been prepared appropriately for a career as a White Sox.

Everyone knows KW has a son playing in AA, the worst player on the team, hitting below .200 for the season and one poster on SoxTalk who attends all the Barons games says the kid runs with a piano on his back (I know how that is).

Now, we picked up Tyler Williams, his younger son, who was just released by DBacks after 24 ABs in Rookie League with 20 Ks among them. This is really getting ridiculous. I am ready to can KW, I cannot stand nepotism. I understand very few minor leaguers make it, but give one a chance that has a slight chance of making it.

In all fairness, the kid runs much better without the piano.

After a terrible start, Jared Mitchell is starting to regain his batting stroke that made him a first-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2009 draft.

Mitchell had a nine-game hitting streak end Friday night for Class-A Winston-Salem in a 10-0 victory over Frederick. Mitchell batted .353 with four doubles and one triple and stole four bases during the streak.

Saw that but he is still only batting .239. We'll see what the rest of the season holds for Mitchell, but at least he seems to be getting better. Shall we send Walker down to help him?

The kid missed all of last season. He dug himself a very large hole with a sub .170 avg for a long stretch. Getting his average up to .239 is actually quite impressive considering where he was.

Well .239 doesnt exude confidence, so I took a wait and see approach by saying lets see how he finishes up the rest of the season. You need to stop reading things into what I say..
