So Willie Harris is going to have a baby. I guess he is more feminine than I thought

Before you click on the link, see how many of the one present White Sox player and the 8 former Sox players you can name that are on the list:

Great news from Minne-haha!

Twinkies blow a 7-0 lead and lose 8-7 to the Brew Crew at Target Field.

Thome striking out to end the game is the icing on the cake!

The fact that they call CC Sabathia "unathletic" is all you need to know about the credibility of The Bleacher Report.

I've heard numerous announcers and analysts call him the MOST athletic pitcher.

That list might as well be called "the list of guys over 35 and/or over 260 pounds."

Looks like the NL did better this year during interleague. The AL still had the winning record but they were not nearly as dominant this year as in the past couple years.

Ankle transplant surgery gave former baseball star Robin Ventura a new lease on life

Virtually immobilized by pain from an old injury, the former White Sox (and Dodgers) third baseman has been practically pain free since a surgeon inserted an ankle joint from a cadaver in his right ankle in 2005.

Tigers fire pitching coach Rick Knapp

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have fired pitching coach Rick Knapp.

The relatively surprising move was made after Detroit beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3 Sunday.

Bullpen coach Jeff Jones was promoted to replace Knapp, who was in his third season with the Tigers. Mike Rojas becomes the team's bullpen coach after working as its director of player development.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland says Knapp is the first coach that's been fired from his staff during a season. Leyland says he and team president Dave Dombrowski made the mutual decision because something needed to be done.

Dombrowski says the Tigers have not pitched as well as they're capable of this season, insisting Knapp doesn't deserve all of the blame.

Detroit's pitching staff has a 4.39 ERA.

You cant make .300 hitters out of .200 hitters. Kenny is to blame for putting this team together. I am not a Walker fan, but I cant blame him for the talent on the team. It all starts with the drafting and lowballing the good talent.

Our offense has been underacheiving for years, and the lone constant has been Walker.

It's well past time for him to go.

You couldnt be wrong about that could you? I mean maybe the talent is overrated to begin with. Maybe you are expecting more out of what we have that they arent capable of.

I'm expecting an offense that isn't routinely shut down by guys making their debut.

I'm expecting an offense that doesn't look clueless against soft-tossin' lefties.

I'm expecting an offense that works harder at hitting to all fields.

I'm expecting an offense that's able to alter its approach depending on who's pitching (moving up in the box, choking up, etc.)

I'm expecting a guy like Gordon Beckham to be better than what he's shown.

I'm expecting Adam Dunn to at least be a .230 hitter.

There's a lot of stuff wrong with our hitting that I think can be better addressed by someone else.  It has nothing to do with talent, it's all about the approach.  Walker has failed.

I think some of our "talent" is not so talented, but I do agree with you about Walker.

Dunn.
Swisher.
Rios (though he did suck before he came as well...).
Beckham.

An opportunity for Kenny to phone Brian Cashman and offer him Teahen for a mediocre prospect +/or a bag of used baseballs.  Remind Cashman that he owes him for the Swisher deal:

Alex Rodriguez to have knee surgery

Alex Rodriguez is going to have surgery to repair the torn meniscus in his right knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Read an interesting story on the Kevin Costner owned Lake County Fielders in the Chicago Sun-Times this Sunday.  They are an independent minor league team who started the season with a 32-game road trip going 20-12.  Very positive fluff piece comparable to the crap usually found in the Cubs-owned Vineline:

http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_action=print

Then, the next day, an article in the Sun-Times about the turmoil within the Lake County Fielders with the manager resigning and eleven players refusing to play since they weren't being paid:

http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_action=print

Next day's article reports on the LC Fielders making wholesale trades and firings of their on-field personnel due to the 'walkout':

http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_action=print

Today's article has the LC Fielders' management putting the blame on the city of Zion, IL for their troubles:

http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_action=print

The wonders of independent minor league baseball!  Four different managers for 4 games.  Trading 9 players and releasing 14 other players in one day. Firing coaches. Can't wait to see what happens next in this soap opera. BTW, they are in 1st place with a win last night giving them a 25-15 record for the season.

From espn.com:

Liriano lasted only 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits, four walks and two wild pitches. He needed 78 pitches to record seven outs.

Just makes the whole "the-Sox-got-no-hit-by-this-chode" memory even more painful.
