Fantastic thread on twitter concerning how teams move up assets in the AL, this was done by a Jays fan as personal research, so NL teams are not included.

https://twitter.com/enosarris/status/1029525898184155137

This is about the only time you'll hear fantastic tread on twitter in the same sentence. The only team in the AL that pushes prospects faster then the Wsox is the Os.

All the "good" developing teams on general keep their players in the minors for atleast .6 years longer then the wsox. (this is the Rays/A's/Indians/Astros/Yankees); 3 teams i follow the most other then the wsox are the Rays/indians/Astros, i suppose this further tints my view against how the Sox do things.

Astros are the only successful team that pushes their prospects to the majors almost as fast as the Sox. they have also had the luxury of having a lot higher draft picks then the Sox over the last 5 years.

Which players have they rushed?  Sale? Moncada was brought up by the Red Sox at one point. Btw, how far back do they go?

What number are you looking at to show they were rushed?

Avg ETA. he only went back 3 years... so sale is not part of the data set.

He's going to publish more data soon, avg at bats per level for a prospect that made it to the majors and such will be forthcoming shortly.

The research was done by a Jays fan, to see how they stack up against rest of the AL... so he did not bother with the junior circuit.

The whole bit has been picked up by eno sarris, so in a few weeks we should have a much more indepth article on the data... and its being expanded out to go further back.

Some folks correctly pointed out that some of those teams were pushing prospects faster during that period due to where they are in their teams cycle. So hopefully more comprehensive data soon.

Funny, that's what people kind of said at the office when everyone first got a PC and  they were told they had to work with them going forward.

Yes.  I’m a Luddite.  But a systems analyst in real life who knows that life cannot be defined down into raw pieces of data.  Baseball is filled with real people, who have real reactions to playing on the big stage.  Analysis can never take you between the pieces of data.

Some real people defy the data and soar - and some, well....poor Q.

Cubs trying to hold brewers off for the division. Sox play them 9/21-9/23. Might be our world series this year.

With the way this season has gone it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Sox gave away all 3 games to the Cubs spurring them on to an 8 game winning streak and sealing the division for them.

I read that book about a year ago - it's very good & makes a convincing case that all the misconceptions we have about Cobb are the result of one dishonest writer.

George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television": "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits".
