Rather have Johnny Field in CF than Engel or Tilson etc...

I'd rather have Mike Trout in CF but nine years ago KW & Doug Laumann thought drafting Jared Mitchell two picks ahead of this generation's Mickey Mantle was the better move. 

(interesting side note) a Q&A with Laumann days after that 2009 draft is still available on the Sox website.  Can't believe they haven't scrubbed it by now as it was an awful Sox draft class that Laumann was happy with. Maybe he was happy with it since he was able to pick three White Sox employees' kids (Kenny Williams' son, Harold Baines' son and Larry Monroe's son) in the 2009 draft. Josh Phegley ended up being their "best" pick. Still smh that KW and Laumann are still employed by the organ-I-zation. One of Jerry:s faults is he is too loyal to the screwups he employs.

I would have to say the biggest reason is his athleticism. He possesses the tools that cannot be taught, the main one being game-changing type of speed. Speed is the only tool in the game that you can use both offensively and defensively, and hopefully we see him using his tools in a White Sox uniform very soon. Jared has a very high ceiling that he will hopefully begin to develop soon.
