Jim Northrup passed on. He was a good hitting CF for the Tigers in the mid to late 60s. Tigers made a drastic change just before the 1968 world series that let Northrup into the lineup fulltime. The moved the RH hitting platoon CF, Mickey Stanley, to SS for the WS, removing light hitting Ray Oyler from the lineup. Can you believe moving your CF to SS just for the WS, and it worked.
